Destination wedding

Congrats and welcome to the community!

We couldn't think about a destination wedding due to the work we had and the wages being made at the time. We had to choose within the city itself to know we can have an affordable wedding to the best of our budget and it was for sure. All our family, friends and coworkers had a great time celebrating with us.

We are having a domestic destination wedding in BC. We live in the NWT, we have family in NWT and Alberta and friends from BC, Washington State and Germany hopefully coming. Our guest list is about 30 people.

Destination weddings are a lot of planning 'sight unseen' - no meeting in person with vendors or touring venues. We chose the location because we wanted a pretty mountain location.

I'm planning to have one in Jamaica for March 2023. We plan on having about 15 people there. Not sure if many people will show up or if it will even happen but fingers crossed. We already decided that If we have to cancel it then we are just gonna go to the courthouse and that'd be it.

Oh yes, that makes sense. I was happy enough to not have to postpone my wedding and just kept it going. I don’t know how I would have deal with it handled having to push backs that others have done.

I have a friend that is planning to have a destination wedding to Jamaica. How are you feeling about it? Where would you go? How many people are you planning to have?

It depends on where you're going and how many people you plan on bringing. A destination within Canada with a small group may be okay but to have a ton of people cross international borders with the pandemic still looming over us could be tough.
