Camping Wedding

Trudy, on March 28, 2018 at 18:43 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6
Hello ladies,

I’m looking at having a camping wedding that will be from Friday to Sunday. Food and activities are included for the whole weekend at a summer camp. I’m struggling on how to ask people if they would stay in a rustic cabin and spend Money out of pocket. I need to get a rough idea if I have the numbers to book the venue. Any suggestions on how to ask people and how to word/say it that we would be needing them to cover some of the cost? I have individually asked my wedding party and so far so good. I don’t have the time to ask my 100 person guest list

Thank you

That is such an awesome Idea for a wedding. I would send out an email to all your guest, maybe as a save-the-date as well and let them know. Its almost similar to having a destination wedding so I think your guest will love the idea! On your details card you can outline all the accommodation information.

I think either being straight forward and asking or pitching it like a destination wedding are your best options. I think this is a really cool idea btw!

That is such a great idea!!!
I would position it to the guest like a destination wedding. Doesn't hurt to send out an email to most of the guest list and take the temperature on how they feel about the extra cost.

I think you can send an email to people. Let them know you realize this is unconventional but want to find out their thoughts before you book the space. Most guests know they are paying for their own accommodations, but to make it clear I think you could include the cost in the email.

Maybe send out a mass email, or even like an "inquiry invitation" asking guests if they would be interested in staying just for the wedding or the whole weekend. You could word it like an invitation, but be specific that it's not a formal invitation and that will follow. I think camping is an awesome idea! My fiance proposed to me while we were camping, so I absolutely love this!
