Bridesmaids Dress Shopping - Old School or Online?

Sinéad, on December 16, 2019 at 09:05 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 17

You’ve gotten your dress and now it’s time to kit out your bride squad. Are you heading straight to your favourite, tried and true online stores to find the perfect gown for your girls, or will you plan a group girls day to head to a store and try on different styles?

How are you shopping for your bridesmaids dresses? Are you going online straight away or are you doing it old school?

Both. I did some style shopping online to get ideas for what I was hoping to see and to see what was even out there and available, but then we went into stores and found the perfect dress

I wanted to have the experience of shopping in a store with my girls and I wanted them to have he experience of picking out dresses and trying them on. They absolutely loved the experience and they knew going into the appointment that I wouldn't choose a dress that day. I ended up deciding on a dress online but then changed it to one they had already tried on. I liked the online option because I have a Bridesmaid who lives a couple Provinces away so she could order straight to her house but they felt insecure about measuring themselves and ordering based on that. I found that the prices of the dresses online versus in store were the exact same.
We ended up ordering from Davids Bridal and my long distance BM just went to her local one.

    Old school.

Our MOHs chose the Indian saris of their choices knowing the colours they had to pick. Their alterations for the blouse had to be made based on their body measurements. End results were beautiful and what they liked. They bought their own outfits.

Old School. Much like my wedding dress, I found ideas on-line to get the general "yay" or "nay" from the bridesmaids as to their feelings. We went out and spent a day trying on dresses (3 stores), and got them at David's Bridal at the end of the day. I'm glad we went in person, because I got more feedback from them in person than I did with any pictures, etc.

Myself and the 5 girls in my wedding party went to Davids bridal in London ont. to try on dresses. that why they could try on what they wanted and figure out what felt good to wear. as im all about comfort.

I told my MOH she can buy whatever she wants. We'll probably go together to check out some stores.

Like Chelsea, we went online to Azazie.ca! My bridal party lives all over the place so it wasn't practical to go to stores in person, plus azazie had the (near) exact colours I wanted and I didn't want different variations of the 2 colours I chose.

I/my bridesmaids also love their custom sizing! Very minimal alterations were needed!

Old school. We went to the Bridal Store that I bought my dress at, and had the girls try on the dresses that they liked, as long as they were in the colour I wanted

Old school. We want to spend the time together with our MOHs. Though it may become online if we don’t find anything!

My daughter picked out her dress online and I bought it from the same online shop I bought my dress.

We haven't started shopping yet, but I think we will do a mixture of online and in stores.

My bridesmaids are going to be in mismatched dresses so that we can find something for everyones budget, and the majority of my girls are plus size so they have more options online usually

As I said, clothes shopping online scares me so we went in-store.

We went in store for my sister's dress - I don't think we even looked online.
