Bridesmaids bouqet ...

Christy, on March 3, 2017 at 00:22 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 12
I'm having a hard time choosing a bouqet for my bridesmaids. I would like them to carry a bouqet that won't take away from my bouqet or my dress. My dress is ivory. My bouqet will have blush roses, cream roses, cream calalilys and white hydrangea. Bridesmaids dresses will be long, strapless in chocolate brown. Any ideas?

Instead of a bouquets you could have your bridesmaids carry a single flower.

I love the bouquet you chose! It's lovely! Why can't you just have smaller versions of your own bouquet for the bridal party? That's why I'm doing for my bridal party and we will use the bouquets to decorate the front of the head table at the reception! Let is know how to you do!

Yeah I agree. Usually they're just smaller versions of the bride's so that the colour scheme is all the same. Yours will be bigger so they'll definitely know who it belongs to! And if you want, you could choose a special flower that's only in your bouquet to make it stand out even more.

I think most of the time bridemaids bouquets are simply smaller versions of the bridal bouquet, or similar, but in one contracting colour.

I wouldn't worry too much about the bridemaids' bouquets out-shining the bride! Guests are there to see you get married, they will hardly pay attention to the others!

Hey Christy! Smiley heart I'm so happy to hear about what you chose for your wedding! It sounds gorgeous! I guess it depends on the shape of bouquet you choose. Bridesmaids usually go for smaller bouquets but similar flowers to the bride. You can see this discussion, it'll be a good guide for you: What is your favourite shape of bouquet? Hmmm that is a harder one as you don't see chocolate brown for bridesmaids dresses too often! Here are some photos of what I could find as I am unsure what your overall colour scheme is or if you have a theme for the wedding. You could also pick one of the flowers that you are using, like the cream roses because it will match brown, but it wont upstage you by having different flowers in it. I to have an ivory dress but I chose to go with a purple bouquet of flowers and then for my bridesmaids they have purple dresses with just ivory roses. My bouquet has a few different flowers in it (I posted below to see). I decided on giving them the more plain bouquets and myself a coloured one so I would stand out more.
