Bridemaid and moh

My sister is my MOH and I'm not having bridesmaids, so it was just sort of assumed that she would be it. I plan to formally ask her soon (under a year out).

Before a year before the wedding. We're having a 2 year engagement (although the first year is almost up!) so we had a little more time but I would say as soon as you can so your girls can plan and book your wedding off from work.

Within a couple weeks of getting engaged, so around a year out from the wedding. I would do it sooner rather than later, as the girls should have enough time to put money aside for their dress, the bridal shower, the bachelorette, and the wedding.

If there's anyone you're on the fence about, I'd suggest leaving them out. Your gut is usually right, and if you think there will be problems, there usually will be. Get your tried and true siblings/friends on board, and start planning!

I had to ask my girls pretty immediately since there was only 9 months between engagement date and wedding and they both live far. One had to come all the way from South Korea!

Well for my MOH I didn't even have to ask - seeing as how she is my sister she assumed the role just as we had talked about since we were little kids! As for the bridesmaids I asked them as soon as I knew that I would want them with me so roughly 15 months before the wedding? It was more of a - you know you will be in the wedding party right? You good with that? And after they said yes I told them not to worry as their official proposal will be near the 1 year mark.

Within a few weeks! Most of mine knew from before engagement that when I was to get married I'd want them to be by my side but formally asking was for sure within a month of engagament!

We asked about a year in as well as we thought about who was going to be in our planning process. I had to get another MOH as my original choice was moving to another province months prior.

I asked them right away but we were only engaged for 9 months. I got engaged on Sunday, wanted to go dress shopping Saturday and wanted to ask them before we went. So, I asked them within 5 days of being engaged!

I asked them about a year before the wedding but we also decided everything pretty much on the spot! I would say to do it at least a year in advance if you’re planning on having them pay for their dresses so they can have enough time to save up because it take roughly 4-6 months to get the dresses in and also make it clear to them before accepting a yes. I’m sure you already know this but whomever you choose as a MOH make sure you have a very solid relationship with them and can vent about anything under the sun, it certainly helps!
