Makeup I am debating do myself but hair is definitely someone else, my FH friend is a hairdresser so he will be doing the bridal party’s hair for a great deal

I did have my engagement photos since I left this comment, and I think my makeup looked great, really natural but still there. The only thing I might change is the amount of blush/bronzer, since the camera tends to wash you out slightly, so I would amp that up just a little for the big day.

I will hire a professional makeup artist for sure!

We hired a team for hair and makeup for myself, bridesmaids and my mom.. I could probably do mine, but I would like to not have the added task the morning of our wedding, we also want our ladies to feel pampered and this will be like our extra thank you to them. We are also taking all the men to the barber shop to have their hair and beards tamed as well.

I’m hiring someone to do my hair because I certainly can’t buy am doing my own makeup. Getting your makeup done professionally was just too costly for me to justify as I don’t want anything too over the top. I’m going to follow a makeup tutorial by Allie Glines which I really love. I’ll do a test run a few times beforehand to make sure I have the steps down. You should do whatever makes you feel most comfortable though 😊

Definitely will be hiring for both hair and makeup. A few reasons why:

1. I want to feel pampered and get dolled up

2. I know if I tried to do it myself it wouldn't be good lol, best to leave it to the professionals

I was really on the fence about this but finally decided to just go ahead and hire someone. It will just be me getting my hair and makeup professionally done and my bridesmaids (which are my sisters) and mom will do their own and get ready with me at the same time. I feel like it will be one less thing to stress about day of.

I cant do makeup to save my life. Im hiring a student MUA locally who is training in bridal makeup.

I’m hiring a specialist! They have the pro makeup and airbrushing that I think make photos look really flattering, and they have all the tools to make sure you’re not a mascara mess after having some tears lol


Also I think it’s nice to support these small local businesses after such a difficult year. 🤍

Originally for my 2020 wedding I was just going to have my cousin do both as she is pretty amazing however when we postponed to this year I decided to spoil myself and hire someone. With the possibility of postponing the bigger wedding celebration to next year now, I am still going to have my hair and makeup done professionally with my 10 person wedding and next year will have my cousin do it. Spoiling is well deserved especially in these times.

If you are questioning chances are you do your makeup often enough to feel comfortable to do it yourself. I have elected to do my own makeup because I felt like I have the capability to achieve the look I want. I also am very picky about the lip colour, the lashes and lash adhesive and also the foundation and powder. So if I had to bring all of those products myself, I figured I might as well just save the money.


I’m also planning on doing my makeup how I envision it for my wedding at my engagement shoot, so that I can see how it photographs and I can make any changes for the big day!

I’m hiring! I feel like the added unneeded stress of doing my own hair and makeup wouldn’t be worth it. While I’ve definitely heard some backlash on the topic and people have questioned why I’m not just doing my own I stand with my choice. I want to look my best on my day and have to live with the pictures. I’m also not confident enough that my subpar hair and makeup skills would suffice lol, plus I want to splurge a bit and feel my best!

Personally I’d 100% hire someone... I wouldn’t want to worry about doing my own hair and makeup

View quoted message Yes and then she turn off her phone so my sister can’t reach her. She was so stressed call me around 6am and I went to bed like 2am!! I was not prepared for that since one of my daughters was her flower girl so I had to her ready as well. But I everything turns out fine in the end.

My ceremony is at 330pm. So I'll be getting my makeup done around 1130ish. Things will always go wrong when you're stressing out a lot and not to mention I would hate to mess up my makeup if I was doing it myself on my wedding day! That would be my worst nightmare!
