Ball Gown Inappropriate?

I always thought that ball gowns were only meant for grand weddings with a huge guest list.

Girl you do whatever you want! Who cares if there is only 25 people at your wedding? Wear the hugest ball gown you can find if that is what makes you happy!

I dislike this whole "The dress should be appropriate to the venue" type thing. The dress should only matter to one person, the one wearing it (and your spouse, obv. but if you love it, they will too!)

Do it!!! If you really feel uncomfortable about wearing it to the reception, you could always buy a white cocktail dress to change into.

GO FOR IT! If you love them and you love how you feel in them then there is no other question!!

Even if you're in a small restaurant oh well! Bump a few things off the table they can always be picked back up!

If you want the ball gown then girl wear it! It's your day, no matter how much or how little people will be there you can look like a princess if you want to!

Definitely wear the ball gown. It's about what you want for your day. I think the only way a wedding dress is inappropriate is if you wear a skimpy dress to a religious ceremony... haha.

When it comes to the dress go with what feels right when it comes to the silhouette. You want to feel confident and special on the day. And I agree that if your concerned about it being too formal find one that isn’t 10ft wide. And if the extremely large ball gown is the one then go for it. After all the bride is allowed to be as overdressed as they want for their own wedding. After all no one should be challenging you for that crown on the big day.

Wear the ballgown!! It's your wedding day and you deserve to feel beautiful and confident, your guest list size doesn't need to dictate your dress style

On your special day it's never too much! This is your one chance to wear the dress of your dreams so go for it!

I agree with the other ladies it’s your day! If you’re really worried about it you could have a second dress but that depends on your budget and you might as well rock your dream dress all day! Haha

You do you!!!! but if you are concerned about it being too much. when trying on ball gowns, have the sales consultant see how many layers are under it. or don't add extra crinoline (or get one that can be taken out between ceremony/reception

If it’s what you really want to wear, I think you should! You don’t want a dress you don’t really like.

If it will make you happy, wear the ball gown. You don't want to look back on your wedding day with regret over what dress you wore.

I say go for it! It’s your wedding and you should wear whatever makes you feel beautiful and amazing! It’s wouldnt be inappropriate at all.

I agree with the other girls! Do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. If you do find it too "poofy" you could always ask whoever is doing your alterations to remove a layer of crinoline, but really, if it looks great, do it!

I don't think it's inappropriate at all! You do you, girl! Whatever you feel is the most flattering on your body type is the style of dress you should get.

There are ballgowns that aren't humongous and hard to get around in. Mine is ankle length right now (will be shortened to tea length), very light and not super poofy.
