Are you changing your hair before the wedding?

Joey, on December 20, 2018 at 08:05 Posted in Beauty 0 24

Are you planning a big hair change before your wedding? What is the plan? Growing it out? Cutting it short? Changing your color? Adding extensions? Going for a dramatic new style? Or will you be keeping things close to your usual 'do?

I’m working on growing my out as much as possible and keeping my gray ombré but intensifying it more or maybe with a colour tint, like rose gold or icy blue like I have now

I'll be doing a lot! I'll be cutting a couple inches off- not too many, like Bianca I have it down to about my waist/top of my butt (it's over 28inches long!) but it looks really nice long and will be a good style with my wedding dress. The ends are not super healthy though so I need to do that. Most importantly I need it THINNED. I have so much hair! I'll also be getting lots of highlights and probably some lowlights- add lots of dimension to my hair. Honestly it's a similar style I always do except usually at this point I cut it all off to donate it and highlight the small bob that is less, so I'm sure this is going to be crazy expensive this time.

I'm definitely cutting my hair (it's currently down to my waist), and colouring my hair (it's my natural colour but it washes me out a bit).

So I am definitely having a hair makeover soon!

Definitely not changing my hair style. It will stay the same it has for the past 15 years, no colour change and no wild hair cut before the wedding! I’m such a creature of habit, changing my hair colour or getting a style before our wedding would throw me so off!!

I always grow my hair, but it doesn't really grow and i have no idea what's the reason.. I use only natural hair cosmetics and only organic Colourants + different essential oils but it's still the same length

No change! I didn’t want to end up regretting it! I had two friends who had to get their hair done a second time because they didn’t like the colour it turned out. And, my husband loves how long my hair is so I was not going to get it cut!

I'm always growing my hair out so it's longer!

I'm a natural dark brunette but I've dyed it red for the last few years. For the wedding, I'm switching it up and going a lighter brown with blonde highlights. My hair stylist and I made a plan where my last red dye will be in January and then in March/April we will start the new colour scheme so we can get it right for the wedding.

NO! No drastic changes. I got my hair trial done last night... LOVE it. She complemented me on the colour... I box dye when I'm brunette, but my hair has a reddish undertone to it, so right now it's a really nice medium/dark mahogany brown. I grew out my bangs all year so that I could have the frame pieces in my updo, I'll just be trimming my hair the week before the wedding (1-2 inches tops), and cutting a few more framing pieces in the front. My hair is totally up, so you won't be able to tell my hair is trimmed, but it will help it look nicer on our honeymoon when the ends are healthy.

I have been growing my hair for a while. Since getting engaged I have made a point of growing it out. The longer the better!

I chopped all my hair off last year in october and since then i've let it grow out! - my hair grows so fast! I will be keeping it my natural colour, and growing it out as much as possible! I want to wear my hair down and curly for the wedding and I was it to still be long when its curled Smiley smile

I tend to be a blonde. but about a year before getting engaged, I went more to a highlight blonde, then full head of blonde (mostly to not to go to the hairdresser every 4-6 weeks for touch ups). and I had chopped to a lob. 1st hair appointment after getting engaged, I said to my hairdresser. ok time to grow it out and make me blonder again. she also says blonde is my signature color" hahaha

i'm pretty fortunate in that my hair grows fast and is thick. so will be long enough for wedding. no extensions needed.

Keeping it the same! I am growing my hair to donate it to cancer, so there will be no drastic changes.

I'm keeping it shoulder length and just my regular color (blonde balayage). The wedding day will be stressful enough, I don't want to throw in any surprises on top!Smiley laugh

I’m growing my hair colour out and will decide in the new year. I’m not a fan of 2 toned hair so it will either be coloured the reddish brown that I’ve been sporting for the past 6 years or I’ll revert to my natural hair colour (dark brown). I’m sure I’ll Like either for my wedding day photos, but I’ve been reddish/brown for so long, I’m really hesitant to go back to black...annnnd as I type this I think I’ll go back to black during the holidays and see how I like it over the next couple of months.

No worries I understand!! And thank you!!!
Weirdly enough my hair CANNOT hold colour no matter what I do (and I have to avoid bleach at all costs) this colour is actually faded down from when I dyed my hair a dark red in September hahah!! My hair fades light... it's so weird... like it faded lighter than my roots/natural hair. And it's not the first time it happened, it's usually what happens haha! So I'm not too worried about that! I attached a pick of it freshly dyed just so u can see the difference barely 3 months makes for me

Right? It's a top contender for sure! Luckily for me my mama is my hairdresser so she gets the joys of me doing multiple trials as my hair grows more 😂 I have a headpiece that would go well with that one too!

Don't forget that it can take twice as long and twice as many sessions to go back to this lighter colour if you don't end up liking the darker colour! Make sure you give yourself lots of time and know that itll probably damage your ends pretty badly if you go back to light Smiley smile

Sorry, as a hairstylist i can't in good conscience not say anything!

My hair trial!! I am testing out a different color today! Something darker just to see if I like it! If not I'll go back to this colour! There is an extension in the back part of the style so ill have to get one that matches my hair when I decide what I want to go with!

My hair was short and shaved before (Undercut, and both sides shaved, chin length from the top down one side) - I've been growing it out since he proposed in August 2017. It will be well past my shoulders by our wedding in May.

The day after the wedding, I'm going to get it all cut off again!

I used to have purple in my hair:

But then I chopped it off to get rid of the bleached hair:

And now I'm growing it out... so it will be whatever length it can grow by October - but my natural hair that is brown (depending on the amount of sun I get because hair gets lighter with more sun).

I'm a hairstylist, so probably all of the above 😂 so far this year I have had a chin length inverted bob, an undercut, gone from my natural dark hair to very blond, then red, am now growing my hair out (its just past my shoulders again-yay!), and am now back to being dark! I've ordered some extensions but I'm still not 100% set on what I will do for the wedding! I may chop it off again and do something like this first photo, or I'll keep growing it and do something like this second one! The third is my dress, and as you can see lots of different updo styles will be possible with it which will be nice!
