Are you assigning tables or seats?

Tables. Seats are way too much work lol.

Assigning tables and then they can all sort out where they want to sit! Makes for less stress and saves time in having to make a more detailed seating chart.

Our venue requested that we assign seat. We will have a seating chart at the entrance and at their seat, they will have a tag in the same design as our invitations and thank cards that is placed into a pine cone that has been done up so they can use it as an ornament for their next christmas

Definitely assigning as we feel it would be too stressful to just have randoms sit wherever lol we'd like to keep the families together where they are comfortable.

We will assign tables, not seats. As for how we will display it, I saw on Pinterest where people used potted plants, and wrote people's names on popsicle sticks and stuck them in the dirt (to look like those little information labels in plants). That's what we plan on doing. We are using potted plants as our centrepieces so it ties in nicely!

We were only 40 and having dinner at a restaurant, so we didn't assign any seats. It worked out well for our group since it was all family, but if we had had a larger wedding then for sure I would have been assigning seats.
