Are bridal party gifts absolutely needed?

Ashley, on September 28, 2017 at 11:45 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 12

Since I made the bridal party glasses I'm thinking those could just be their gifts. I want to save some costs somehow thru décor and what not. And to DIY the glasses, it cost me a total of 50$ to DIY the entire glasses for everyone. Wondering if I should do something else for them? or if that's okay

I got my bridesmaids a reusable tote, a bath bomb and a personalized blanket. The girls were able to use the blankets that evening as it got a little chilly which was nice. I also covered hair and makeup as they had both traveled significant distances (from Korean and Edmonton) to be with me at my wedding.

I'm covering their hair and makeup, and giving each a bracelet. I'm doing personal letters to each one.

The letter idea is great. I don't think you need to go overboard with gifts.. I know some people do.

I think sometimes giving them a gift they can wear the day of.. whether getting ready or at the wedding can be nice and small. I got my girls matching flipflopy sandle things.. They're fuzzy and super cute.

I'm still debating on another smaller thing for them and possibly may cover part of their hair or make up.

Thanks Michelle. The letter thing is basically what I'm hearing most of. So I definitely got to do that.

Thanks Becca. I'm definitely going to write them letters. And getting them something else to go with it.

Something small to thank them for all of the time and money they put in is always nice! I know my girls know that im on a budget, so if they are understanding i dont think they will expect anything huge from you.

To each their own in my opinion. I'm not going over top with my girls as they know how much I'm spending on this wedding. Their gift will be a combination of me covering a portion of their dresses, buying their get ready robes, I'll purchase them a card each with a nice note. Then maybe small things here and there.

The personalized letter is a nice touch. I found all kinds of small gifts on Varage Sale and at Value Village. These were new items that cost a fraction of the price.

A small token to thank them for being there and spending money to do so is always nice. Etsy has plenty of beautiful jewelry that is reasonably priced that you could even have personalized to each person. You don’t have to spend lots.

Maybe add a personalized hand written note to each of your bridesmaids. It is nice to show them how thankful you are that they are sacrificed time, effort, and money to help you celebrate their big day. I am getting my girls a monogrammed tea mug, small bangle from etsy and writing them each a thank you letter and how much they mean to me.
