Any advise for working with vendors?

Julia, on August 29, 2018 at 16:35 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 9

I am worried I am not taking enough precaution with vendors and feel like a newbie with all of this, I don't know where to start.

Do your research! Don't always go by testimonials posted on websites. Look for Google and Facebook reviews to get honest opinions. Also don't get too overwhelmed with which vendors to book. Start slow, and book them one at a time. Good luck!

Same here! I now have my email full of vendors and have called nearly all of them to go over details. I have a note book of what's important to me and write down and compare what they offer vs pricing. To make sure I'm getting the best bang for my buck 😄 good luck!

It takes time to fins the right vendor and reviews based on their services.

When i started searching online and kijiji sites, i looked up the packages, pricing, rating and reviews. I made calls and asked questions to verify the amount of hours and what's included and if there wqs any possibilities to lower the price for unneeded particulars. Meeting them in person allows you to know if their personality and direction is what you like as on the same page as you.

You will know when the vendor is right and if you like what you hear knowing the contract is clear and concise.

Ask others for reviews! Check Facebook buy and sell and local wedding groups. Ask on there if anyone has used the vendor and how their experience was.

Google the name of the vendor and "review".

Check a vendor on the Better Business Bureau. Any registered business will be on the Better Business Bureau and any complaints made against them.

Don't sign anything, or pay any deposits, until you are 100% satisfied with your contracts. If you're worried, just make sure it's in writing. Don't take their word for it that they'll honour a price, or feature, or item.

Ask all the questions you can think of. There are no such thing as stupid questions. You are their customer/client, and you deserve to feel 100% in your decisions!

There are lots of discussions on here too where people have brainstormed questions for photographers, venues, etc...

Don't feel like you have to rush or pick the first vendor you interview as well! Talk to a few, feel them out, see what's negotiable.

Once you feel secure, lock it all down in a contract, signed by both parties. Good luck!
