All The Small Things - Smallest part of the budget

Joey, on February 25, 2019 at 08:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 31

Weddings require some pretty big payments, but those have to be balanced with small expenses - or big discounts! What part of your budget have you been able to keep smallest?

Invitations. Using greenvelope! I always send out Christmas cards to friends and family so utilizing those for a save the date so not counting that cost in.

The invitations/RSVP cards/thank you cards/seating chart/advice cards...anything printable. I bought a few templates on Etsy, a pack of cardstock paper from Staples...did it all for around $85!

Invitations themselves were only about $40 or so, so I think those were the least expensive part. However, postage was so expensive! So that was about another $60

Invitations were really inexpensive with vistaprint. My shoes were only $35. Cake and cupcakes were $300.

Backdrop for its easy time of putting together and colours pulling the room in perspective.

Another was the centerpieces that brought its elegance of different colours and white floral balls to go with our whole set up.

We saved a lot on photography, DJ and Coordinator thanks to Bridal Show discounts! We budgeted for more and ended up saving a ton which was awesome!

All the added extras (bridal accessories, ceremony and reception accessories, etc.) are our smallest part. Not everything is purchased yet but there are a few categories that are around or under $100 budgeted.

Oh jeez this might be a big guess because everything isn’t purchased yet.

aside from bridal accessories, the biggest smallest thing is probably ....photobooth?

This is tough. I haven’t gotten my shoes yet, so if that counts then it will probably be them. Lol.

I'm not counting all the small details like cake cutting set, guest book, etc, since they all fall into other categories (décor, etc)

The cheapest area we budgeted in Flowers. Ended up being 580$ for all our flowers (3 bridesmaids bouquets, 1 brides bouquet, 1 grooms boutonniere, 5 groomsmen/bridesmen boutonnieres, 2 Father boutonnieres, 2 mothers corsages, 1 grandmothers corsage) of white roses, lilies and blue dendrobium orchids.

This was closely followed by my dress - Only 700$!

The cheapest thing we've purchased so far was the guest book, for $25. Although I got a really good deal on my wedding undergarments as well, I got them on Etsy for $30!

Way too far till the wedding to know this - so far I could either say favours, decor, flowers, etc. because we haven't got those yet... or I could say videographer which will only end up being $750 or so which isn't cheap IMO (cheap for videographers but not out of possibilities for the question).

Smallest part of the budget is the guestbook.

I found a coffee table book about Victoria (where we're getting married), for $10. We'll have guests write notes in the pages of the book.
