All Inclusive or Separate cheaper?

Kat., on March 24, 2018 at 10:34 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 5
I'm really struggling to find out whether booking everything in an all inclusive package (price per person, includes ceremony, reception, food, booze, etc) is cheaper then booking everything separate.

Any thoughts ?

My suggestion is to lay out your different options side by side. Our venue has the option of booking things a la carte, or selecting a deluxe package that includes almost every option (dinner, corkage, late lunch, ceremony site, chair covers, gratuity, etc.). Being the super anal retentive type A person I am, I created a spreadsheet to compare costs. Selecting only the bare bones things we need and forgoing things like chair covers, sashes, and table runners was still around the same price than just going with the package that includes the nice little extras, and the fancy package with the add-ons was $5000 CHEAPER than what everything it includes would cost on its own (plus we are paying tax on one price, not on the cost of every little thing along the way).

FH and I are all about minimizing the amount of effort and stress surrounding this whole planning process, and reducing the number of vendors by combining services is near the top of our list. Even if at the end of the day it costs slightly more, the hassle involved with researching, selecting, then coordinating multiple vendors and keeping track of who is doing what makes it worth it to us.

    Edit: grammar

I think it depends on the venue. We are going with an all-inclusive that has a ceremony and reception space. Ceremony space is free for those who book the reception hall. Other all-inclusives with both charged for both.

I think caterers separate from venues charge less per plate than caterers attached to a venue (this is what I found anyway). But, usually with venues with separate caterers you also need to rent linens and plates sometimes, and do set up and clean up.

You can start with guest list numbers then maybe get some catering quotes, rough ideas for liquor and cost to have ceremony separate ect. Then add them together decided by guest list and that would give you the rough answer! Will really depend on the venues that you choose and how expensive they are

For sure. It's easy to get quotes on all inclusive. Per person rate and everything is laid out pretty straight forward. I think I may just be lazy LOL I feel like if I try and price out everything individually it's going to take so long and then if it's not worth it my dates at the all inclusive will be lost. Lol wondering if anyone has priced this out already or looked into (were having 75-100)

I think it depends on how many guests you’re hosting, and what the cost of doing it separately would be. Every place is different, so in some situations it works out better to do separate or all-inclusive.
