All about wedding photography - How many hours of photography do you need?

Joey, on January 22, 2018 at 08:26 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 17

Your wedding photographer is responsible for documenting the most important moments of your wedding day. You'll want to make sure your styles, personalities, and ideas work well together, and you'll need to agree on a plan for the day to ensure you end up with photos you'll love. We have a series of questions to help make sure you get the most amazing pictures possible to hang on the wall and put in your wedding album!

How many hours of photography do you need? More hours means more options (getting ready photos, the grand exit, and everything in between!) but it also means more cost.

We will have 12 hours total of coverage, 10am-10pm. We will have two photographers at the beginning of the day capturing both sides getting ready. At dinner 1 photographer will leave and the other will stay to get some pictures of the first dances, speeches, special moments and party photos

We are just going for 5 hours Smiley smile

    1 hour- getting ready.

3 hrs- for wedding party and bride&groom photos- we plan on walking a 3.5 km trail together to get our photos on so weve budgeted a fair bit of time for it

    .5 hour ceremony

.5 hour family photos after the ceremony

We didnt want to pay additional for reception photos. Everyone will have their phones out there anyway.

We're thinking around 8 hours - that gives time for getting ready photos, ceremony photos, reception photos, and photos for the first dances Smiley smile

We've decided on 8 hours. 10 hours just felt like too much, considering the fact that we don't have a wedding party and won't have many "getting ready" pictures or family photos. 8 hours also worked better with our budget.

We have limitless hours. She will arrive in the morning, then probably be done by 9/10 at night after we do some night shots in the field. So probably around 12 hours.
