Emily, on April 13, 2018 at 07:16 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 13
Wow how time flies! We are at the 6 month point today!! I’m feeling pretty good with our checklist of what is done. It’s been a breeze for me so far. For those who are even closer or already married any planning advice at this stage?

How long til your wedding date?

It will fly by! I feel like I was at 6 months yesterday and now it's less than 3 months! I say don't put things off! I felt like I had lots of time and took a couple months off planning, but now I realize there are lots of little things still to do! It'll all get done, but I suggest getting things done while you can! If you take a bit of break, keep it to a week at a time, rather than a big chunk of time.

Thanks! We’ve definitely been trying our hardest to do that. I generally haven’t asked for anyone’s opinion. My parents have been very happy and understanding .

I'm just under three months.. so 82 days or something. I'm just sort of finalizing details and organizing who's doing speeches and that sort of thing.

I'm 5 months away and had a year to plan! We have everything ready to go it's just the small things now like making pew markers but I feel like having the year made it really stress free I knew the look I wanted from the start and had time to get the best buys for the things I wanted Smiley smile

Enjoy every moment, you must be getting so excited! I just got married a few weeks ago and we planned our wedding in 9 months. I agree that it was much easier to get things done when you have less time to stew it over. I was also from out of town, and flying in, so the limited amount of time I had to shop really helped with making quick decisions when I was in town.

We’re 36 days away now. My advice at the 6 month point (or any point really) is to take your to do list one thing at a time and don’t forget to make choices that make you and your significant other happy (even if other people have opinions).

I'm also 6 months away, but then again I'm recently engaged so there's still some details that need to get planned. That's one of the reasons why I wanted a short engagement, I'm a planner by nature and I'm 3 weeks into the engagement and basically have everything decided, all we need to do now is execute closer to the date. So I think that if you're 6 months away and have everything settled, just relax and enjoy your worry free time - that's what I'm planning on doing anyway. I think I'll worry again in September when we have to start actually making all our DIY projects.

Thanks Erin!! We got a lot out of the way really early on so I think that's why I haven't been super stressed out. Other than invites it's mostly logistical stuff left.

I planned my whole wedding in 9 months so at 6 months to go I was still making decisions about things lol I think if you have been using the tools on Wedding Wire and kept a list of all your vendors and things you wanted then you should be fine.

I’m 8 days away now. I planned my whole wedding in about 5 months. The benefit I found from having less time is that you make decisions quicker. I also saw the potential of just continuing to add things if given more time. Having such little time we focused on what we really wanted and what was important to us. So we don’t have a lot of extra frills. I’ve seen other brides who take over a year to plan just keep buying “little things” to add to decor or what not.
Just keep your eye on what is truly important to you.
