2nd wedding dress?

Jen, on June 24, 2017 at 14:38 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 12

Hey ladies! Are any of you doing a second wedding dress? I haven't been able to get the thought out of my mind for months now but am really unsure if I should. I already spent over $2000 on my dress to begin with. I wanted something more comfortable to slip into later on in the evening for dancing and what not. If you are going with a second dress where did you get it from and how much did you spend on it?

I'll be wearing my 3/4 length lace dress for the whole day. It didn't cost me much, but I loved it as soon as I saw it. The great thing about it is I can wear it on other special occasions without it looking like a "wedding dress". I can dress it up with another colour belt and shoes to match.

Hi Jennifer! I think it's nice to have a second dress for later on the night to dance. Maybe you can find one for a good price, as this you feel comfortable. Maybe you can buy it and think about it and if at the end you don't want to change, you can bring the little dress back. Second dress for the wedding party - I love it, I don't love it. Your wedding dress. xx

I am doing a second dress but only b/c we are having a campfire later in the evening and I don't want to get sparks on it or anything so I have chosen a simple white dress from Boutique 1861 that is white.

I got a relatively inexpensive second dress from Etsy that I'll be wearing as a getaway dress when we leave the reception. Our colours are relatively neutral, with greens and golds, so I got a dress with a gold sequined top and ivory skirt. My fiance is german and will be wearing what he calls "getaway lederhosen", so I figured if he's going to change, I wanted to as well!

I am only wearing one dress. I couldn't justify only wearing this beautiful dress for a ceremony and photos and then changing it for the reception. I am only going to wear my dress once and so I just had a bustle added on to make it easier to dance with at the reception!

I feel the same way. However, I've worn my dress previous to wearing it. I've had it on multiple times for wedding shows so I guess I don't feel the same way about spending as much time in it as possible as everybody else does lol. I'll probably scrap the whole idea all together but it's still something that's been on my mind. I wouldn't spend more than $100 on a dress if I did decide to go that route.

I'm considering renting a second dress, but I am also torn about it. I think, the amount I'm going to spend on my wedding dress, and not get to wear it again, shouldn't I spend as much time in it as possible? I'm not sure. But Rent Frock Repeat has some super cute short dresses in white.

Yeah! I'm totally down with just a cheap dress. Something to put on for dancing. I'd wear my dress all day and night up until then. I wish we had an urban planet here. There is one in Sault Ste Marie where my fiancé is from. Our stag and doe is there in August. I'll have to check it out when we go down for the weekend! Thanks!

I'm not wearing a second dress cuz I'm only wearing that dress one night in my life and I also want it to be in all my pictures. I hear of brides debating a second dress all the time. I bought lots of white dresses at urban planet for 15 dollars. I dunno if u wanna go that cheap but they're pretty!

I will not be wearing a second dress because wedding dresses are expensive so if you were to buy a second dress you would have spent $2000+ on a dress for maybe an hour long ceremony and that's it. But that people said if you don't think you'll be comfortable in your dress all night that is something worth doing for yourself

It's your wedding, so you should do what makes you feel most comfortable. Personally, I paid enough for my dress that I'm going to get as much wear out of it as possible.

I will not be wearing a second dress but I think that if it is something you keep thinking about, and want, and your budget is able to take it then you should do what makes you happy. I have heard of people wearing different outfits in order to be more comfortable during the reception: casual white dress, t-shirt that says bride and jeans, all white tracksuit with bride bedazzled on it. There are tons of choices!
