Hey Guys! David and I got engaged on Christmas Day of 2016! We have been together since Nov 2007 and have known each other since we were both in highschool. So it has been a LONG LONG time. I'm so excited to share my experience as tick off my to-do list to the day I say "I Do!".

Hey Wedding Wire Friends & Brides-to-Be! Yesterday, we had an amazing engagement party! My bridesmaids did a fantastic job decorating my future parents-in-law's home. It was a perfect afternoon! No more than 40 people came and went. Everyone was in deep conversation and you could hear laughter throughout the party. It was perfect. David and I have been very lucky when it came to choosing our venue, colors, and reception menu. We had talked about ideas for a very long time (over 8 years) and we were able to come to agreements very easily. I suggest to those who are still in the "research" phase of finding their venue/reception hall is have a good idea of what you can afford... know your budget, know your numbers (in terms of how many people will be there). It is very easy to lose yourself in this phase because you're so excited and your mind can't slow down to reason or to think in a practical manner. I have been there myself!!! Haha! But always, make sure you are happy with your choice. Take the time to think it over, do a spreadsheet, talk to your bridal party, etc. There will be a bit of give and take, but in the end, after the decorating and the lighting... your venue will be stunning! I guarantee you that! If you can or would like to, ask for several opinions from people who are not in your wedding party/immediate family. Sometimes the best ideas come from someone standing in-line in front of you at the grocery store, or from a waitress at a restaurant where you are having dinner. This doesn't mean you go and start chatting up everyone around you. Pick and choose your moments, you know? My last piece of advice for this blurb is... take ..your...time. Make sure you do you. It is your day! David and I are 80% done our planning. We are moving onto our reception center piece ideas and booking a photographer. It is just such an exciting time!!!! WOOT! Enough for now, Thanks for reading this and I wish you all the very best in your wedding planning! Jasmine Bride-To-Be ^_^
