Hey Chelsea! OMG I can't believe what you just wrote, that sounds so harsh. I think it's similar as what other brides had been saying in the community having a hard time dealing with different people's opinions. I get that your pastor is a great authority figure on that matter, and maybe he made some good points but I mean... You made the decisions you made for a reason. You should trust your instincts too. Hey Emilie! I paid off my wedding dress this weekend so it is ready for pick up... On Saturday we had our first marriage counselling class and it was a lot more harsh then I expected. We had with us the head pastor of our Church and pastor Roger who is marrying us and the head pastor did all the talking and what not and he said "why are you spending so much on a wedding when all brides just complain because closer to the date they are stressed out with little details, your feet will hurt, you will be tired from being up early" and he just made it sound so brutal.... He suggested we take away $10g from what we are paying and start cancelling things like the dj and the late night lunch and the dancing and have an early ceremony, and then have a cocktail hour type deal with finger foods and mingle.... That is not what I want at all but the things that were said made my fiancé rethink everything we are doing and now I feel like we are back at the drawing board because he now wants to do exactly what the head pastor suggested. Also he asked some personal questions that I don't exactly think is appropriate regarding money.
