Mine was a surprise ish. He has told me he was going to propose and asked what kind of rings I liked by showing me examples. 😂😂

He picked it out on his own! He oringally picked a different one and I found it in his phone by mistake and told him I didn't like it and he met with his jeweller and had a custom ring made for me! I love it so much! 💍

This is my ring

This one has my wedding band attached but you get the idea!
My fiancee let me choose my ring! He knows I pay huge attention to detail and he doesn't! HA! So he wanted me to find a ring I loved!
I was happy because it took me this long to find the right guy and now I would have a ring I loved too, to symbolize all that! Was a win win situation for both of us!
But it was bothering me that if I picked my ring, I wouldn't have the element of surprise so made a deal with my fiancee that I would pick 3 rings I love equally, then he would go to the jewellers and pick his favourite out of the 3!!!
Thankfully the ring he chose was my ultimate favourite too!

I'm also surprised it stayed a secret! One of my bridesmaids has a family ring but her boyfriend had to awkwardly be like "heyy so about that time you told me there was a family ring.... how would I get that?"

Total surprise! and I love it! Had it custom made a local jeweler!

It was a bit of a mix for me. We looked at rings while on vacation a few years ago (wandering in different shops) and I fell in love with an emerald cut sapphire. It wasn't in the cards for us to get engaged then, but about 6 months before he popped the question, he showed me a picture of a ring online he had been looking at and it was similar to the one we looked at on vacation. He went to a local jeweler and had one made for me and it's perfect! I was expecting something similar, but was floored when I opened the ring box!

I was totally surprised! He picked a couple of styles that he liked and actually got a custom piece made with several different elements he liked. I was floored and absolutely love it!

Picked it myself...and he picked his ring himself. Ordered both online together... Total coincidence that they actually match like a his and hers set

Some input We had talked about what I liked and done a little window shopping together, so he knew he was going to make a good choice. He also showed it to my best girlfriend before giving it to me.

We had been talking about getting married for years so he had asked me what kind if ring I liked. We had planned to get engaged towards the end of 2016 so earlier in the year we went to a jeweler to try on and look at rings. His brother's friend is a jeweler and has his own store downtown Toronto and since he's a friend he offered a great deal on the ring. My fiancé told the guy what kind of ring I wanted and he made it. We drove to Toronto on October 7th to pick it up and on October 14th he proposed! It is perfect and exactly what I wanted.

We talked a lot about it and I showed him some rings that I really liked. My favourite one was also his favourite one, so I wasn't surprised when that was the one he bought me!

It was a total surprise! I don't know how he got the right ring size. He chose a lovely solitaire that was almost a carot and a thin, fairly plain band. I love it!

He had an idea of what I liked, just based on other jewelry (very simple), but he was smart and went to my cousin (my MOH) for advice on where to go shop and specific details on the type of ring he should go for. She was very helpful and managed to keep it from me. She had to wait 4 months for the actual proposal and said she was dying to tell me LOL. I was very surprised and very happy with the ring he chose

My Ring

He picked out and it was a total surprise but exactly what I love !

I had mentioned that my Gramma (who has unfortunately since passed) found a ring that would have been my Great Gramma or Great-Great Gramma and gave it to my mom to eventually pass down to me, mentioned I would love him to consider that as a tribute to my Gramma. He had to get a centre diamond since the original had fallen out years ago. He arranged to meet with my parents to get the ring and have it sized and buy the diamond. Managed to bring it all the way to Hawaii in April & surprised me with a sunset beach proposal

It was a surprise. He wanted to pick it out but I was slightly nervous so I kept mentioning that I like simple and white gold. I also gave him my ring size. I had no chill.
I'm happy with what he picked!
