Your dream wedding get-away

Joey, on June 21, 2018 at 08:58 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 14

If time and money were no object, would you get run off and get married somewhere fabulous? Maybe you'd elope somewhere private and romantic, or maybe you'd take all your guests on a lavish trip to watch you wed. Tell us about your dream wedding get-away?

I would go to Thailand and get married on the beach with just my man and our best friend couple. I know it's mean but if I had my dream come true I'd leave all the family behind. They are so difficult and make our lives miserable, it would be amazing to do it all without the stress on a private Thai beach. Also back when we met he said he loved the wedding his Cambodian friend had where the bride rode in on an elephant and he always dreamed of that for his wedding so I would love to give him that!!

We would take our close family and friends to Scotland and get married in a beautiful castle garden.

If time and money we’re no object I would get married at Cattlepoint in Victoria,BC. We’d rent a property and invite all of our friends and family and then slip off to go on a 2 month honeymoon to Hawaii.

I dont think I'd ever want to get married anywhere else, as lame as that sounds. I live in powell river on the sunshine coast of BC in literal paradise.

However, if I had a butt ton of money, I would take my closest family and head to Greece for a "wedding afterparty, and celebrate a second time in a different paradise!

If we were loaded, I know exactly what my fiance would want to do:

He would want to get married in white bathing suits under a waterfall in Bora Bora... but let's be real, not even Bora Bora would get me to give up having a dress...

We'd fly all of our friends and family and their kids out, private bungalows for everyone... big wedding on a dock looking out at the water, and the biggest reception their main resort can hold...

Followed by a 2 week honeymoon solo once everyone goes home... Haha!

Maybe we'll win the lottery and do a vow renewal like that Smiley xd

I think I would have just had our immediate families and taken them all to Bora Bora or the Maldives for the wedding. Either that or rent out an entire private tropical island for a week.

If the families alone were together and wr all decided to go for resort style location, a wedding could take place and just casual. The time to spend with them all would be better and great as it would be a vacation at the same time.

I would consider having guests more than family a destination wedding and still spending the same amount of money.

Like Tori said, I'd either do what I'm already doing, but perhaps have more guests and pick another room from my venue for my reception to accommodate that (as there's a room I love that my fiancé and I chose not to book because it would look sparse with 50-60 guests) or I'd keep my guest list as is and elope in a castle/mansion in Europe.

Bora Bora. I've always wanted to go. It's so beautiful there. I don't think I'd take anybody except for witnesses lol I don't like being the centre of attention.

I would probably still do what I am currently but without the stress Smiley laugh So far everything that I want is possible but I just have to find it at a lower cost.

I'd go to Greece, more specifically Crete.

Maybe just with a few friends, our parents and siblings.
