Would you have an elopement wedding?

Emilie, on October 20, 2016 at 17:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 9

Hi lovely brides Smiley heart

What really matters about your special day is to spend it with your significant other and celebrate or officialize the love you share for one another.

For this reason, some people choose to have elopement weddings, i.e. a wedding where the couple secretly run off to get married. Smiley love

Proabably in the city... "Somewhere only we know "
(for now as we don't have all the money to thow an ellaborate one). Smiley cry

Keane - Somewhere Only We Know (Lyrics)

Our 7 year anniversary is coming up on the 14th and it's like, I'm done with waiting
I'd rather have a house and move somewhere where we can be safe. Besides
12-14-16 (December 14, 2016) wouldn't be a much better time to have it but keep it
low key from the rest of the family... Only a few trusted will be allowed to come (closest
friends and family). I mean like 7 years! People question it, but we have sturggled
financially and we don't know enough people to even throw a social/fundraiser party to
have people to care to show up or buy tickets. Plus there's me with waiting and wanting
to save up for the extravagant stuff... But I would rather start my life anew without the
illusion of the fake people in my life.

I'll PM you the details with my situation because weddings should be a happy joyous occasion and
celebrated with those who love you and not some extravagant display doing something crazy with
what you barely have and feeding people you hardly know etc.

IF I got to pick where we were eloping though, I'd say Japan as it is gorgeous no matter what time of the year. Besides, it's been a dream for him and I to go. As for getting married there, I heard getting married abroad is more complicated than others thought in terms of paperwork validity etc. When we do have spare $ kicking around we'll go and possibly save money on a hotel and stay with a host through AirBnB.ca... But for now we'll enjoy the Mariaggi's Themed Suites & Spa Hotel (since I did win that $100 certificate from Comic Con after all). Smiley laugh

I am considering... Could be next month too.
If I were to avoid the family drama... In a heartbeat. Smiley laugh

I would have if it would not have upset our mothers so much. We are keeping our ceremony small, and ahving a reception as a compromise. We would have happily (rathered) eloped and just had a party later!

I debate calling it all off and doing it practically once a month Smiley laugh But as much as I would love to skip the stress of wedding planning… I would definitely miss having the day I have planned and being able to make it so completely us!

I would not elope as a lot of people in my family would have been upset and felt left out.

I would've missed our families not being at our wedding.

We actually wanted to get away a weekend and go to Las Vegas and get married over there but I saw how my grandmother was excited to be at my wedding one day so I couldn't do that to her . She's the only reason I'm doing it here .
