Will you have a second shooter? One photographer or two?

Lynnie, on February 6, 2019 at 13:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 21

Every wedding has so many little moments to capture. 📷 From getting ready shots to your guests cutting loose on the dance floor - you want to make sure your photographer to catches them all! Are you sticking with one photographer on your wedding day, or are you hiring a second shooter?

If you decided to have a second shooter - was it part of your photography package? Or did you ask for extra coverage?

When we signed the contract, the photographer was solo for the most part. He was good to bring another photographer as a back up at no extra charge.

He now studies Law and hopefully can do photography if I needed it.

We are having two photographers! We chose that because we want photos of the guys getting ready and being goofy and hanging out too its his day also to take memories of! Plus while we are getting our wedding photos done we can have guest photos done or one can do the bride and groom and one can do wedding party and they wont take as long!

We're having two. I don't really know why, but it actually wasn't much more price-wise so I thought if there is anything to splurge on, it should be pictures Smiley smile

We’re sticking with one for the ceremony & reception and allowing those around us with phones/cameras to shoot to their heart’s content as we get ready.

We have a second shooter at no extra cost. They are husband and wife. It will be awesome! Get all the angles. Especially since we are not doing a videographer, I think having the extra photos will be great.

The company I chose to do our photos is a husband and wife team, so I will have two. I have assisted them on a few weddings and it seems to work out pretty well. She takes photos of the bride and bridesmaids getting ready and he takes photos of the groom and groomsman. Them they come together to do the formals and she usually poses everyone or holds the light stand while he takes photos. But if the available light is good they can take photos at the same time.

We're having a second photographer for 4 of our 8 hours of photography. We paid extra for it because we wanted to capture as many moments as possible (plus I got a discount from our photographer, so I decided to splurge lol).

We’re shelling out for a second shooter. Our photographer is amazing, but guaranteed there will be shots he can’t get...especially with kids in the wedding party who have rather expressive faces! It was an optional add-on.

We didn't have an official second photographer, but my husband's friend took a ton of photos, and filmed our ceremony for us. We had under 100 guests, so it wasn't worth paying for a second photographer.

We'll have a second shooter, who is our main photographer's girlfriend, which I'm happy about so that we get more pictures and different angles and such.

We’re having a second shooter! It helps with us getting ready in separate places and having the different shots without wasting time.

We're having a second photographer - she's my good friend and how I knew about the guy she works for. It's part of the package we're going with. Lots of photos and capturing all the small moments is a priority for us.

We will be having just the one! I'm not too concerned about the in the moment pictures, some things are better left in the moment. It's like taking video's at concerts... just be there!

Besides, I'm really good at recreating things if I need to Smiley tongue

We are having a second shooter for getting ready/ceremony and photos afterward.

One photographer will capture the girls getting ready and the other will capture the gents. I wanted a second shooter for the ceremony since there are small looks and glances that can easily be overlooked. The second shooter will also help organize people for the "formal" photos in between our ceremony and reception.

We asked for the added coverage, but our photographer was able to swap out the included engagement shoot for a second shooter. (We did our engagement shoot where we live vs. where our wedding is - 18 hours away).
