Will you have a candy bar?

Joey, on March 9, 2018 at 08:05 Posted in Wedding reception 0 15

What do you think of the trend of having a candy bar at your reception? Will you have one? What will, or would, you stock your candy bar with?

My idea of heaven! Will you have a candy bar? 1

No, not for us. I feel like it's really over done. I had one at my first wedding (10 years ago) and it was a disaster. People were taking the big glasses once they were empty and pouring their drinks into them. Ugh.

Not for us. We felt it would be an added expense and wasn’t needed to make it a great night!

I’m having a full candy bar as well as a dessert buffet, cupcakes and a wedding cake! My fiancé and I love sweets and the candy bar will be the favour as well. I have 10 large glass apothecary jars, labels, scoops and organza bags with personalized acrylic tags. I’ll have chocolate, sour candies, gummies etc. I’m sure it’ll be a huge hit!

No candy for us as we couldn't budget for it. Plus it wasn't needed.

Yup - candy is our favour, as well. From the very beginning, I have told my fiancé "I want the candy buffet to make the kids lose their damn minds!" Our wedding is between 180-200 people, so we'll be having about 100 pounds of candy! I expect the candy buffet to be about 12-14 feet long - I have about 25 containers! We will also have about a 6 foot popcorn buffet as well!

Each centerpiece had a different shaped vase and a different candy. If you didn't guess, I love candy.

We didn't have one but if we had there would have been mini eggs, chocolate covered pretzels, gummies of some kind and plenty of other things Smiley smile

We are not doing a candy bar. 1st because most guest are 40 yrs old and above. 2nd we're candy couple. Lastly, we opted for fruit table so all our guest can enjoy them.

I think it all depends on age group you invited. If you have a great group of kids, teen, and even in early adults it'll be a hit to them. But if you have guest like mine who are in their 40+, I don't think it'll be worth having.

We are not having a candy bar mostly because we are having kids at our wedding but also because neither of us were ever a fan of this trend.
