Will you do a first-look shot before the ceremony?

I think that's an amazing plan Katherine! It's such a good idea to do your photos before! At what time will be your ceremony? Will it be morning or afternoon?

Most definitely! I'm sure it will be a sweet moment You could even do something like this and exchnage love letters

We will be doing first look... I know I will cry and he will definitely cry and we would prefer not to do that in front of 130 people... Plus doing photos before ceremony will allow us to do a receiving line outside the Church... We have budgeted 1.5 hours from the start of ceremony to the start of supper, venues are a 20 min walk from each other.

haha good point. After reading some comments im thinking about doing a first look, my fiance and i are both shy and it might be really sweet.

I want to (the ever practical Laura - it would make our photography sooooo much easier if we do it before the ceremony at 530 rather than squishing it in between the ceremony and dinner and we miss our cocktails - and this whole tight timeline stresses me out plus I don't want to start supper too late) but my FH (who is definitely more romantical than I) wants to be traditional and not see anything until the aisle. We will see how it ends up since both of us tend to want to accomodate the other. He doesn't ask for very many things so I would like to make it work with the first look being at the alter, and he just likes to make me happy and has said he is willing to do photos before now. We are silly!

This is a great idea! helps calm the nervous but doesnt ruin the surprise when walking down the isle.

We did not do a first look. I wanted the first time he saw me to be walking down the aisle and I don't think we would have had time to fit it in! It might have been fun though to do one of those pictures where you hold hands but don't see each other. I probably would have been bawling my eyes out though!

We are planning to have a first look. We are having a morning wedding with a brunch so our wedding will be shorter than normal because it won't last all night like an afternoon/evening wedding. We want to spend add much time with our guests so we don't want to take pictures for an hour and miss our reception. Plus, I think it's really romantic to have that moment private. We are both introverted people and I think it will be so special to have that moment to ourselves before the craziness of the day begins.

In our case, no. We will see each other and have first shots when we meet each other at the altar.

Yes he will be walking my down the aisle and then possibly my step-dad as well... but not 100% decided on that yet!
