Who should get a plus-one?

Emilie, on January 26, 2017 at 14:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 4

Hey brides and grooms!

This can be a tricky situation to discuss with your guests or to consider when making your guest list... Smiley xd

Who should get a plus-one?

- Anyone who is married

- Anyone who is engaged, lives together or is in a long-term / serious relationship

- Your wedding party

- An important guest who doesn't know any of the other guests

***

What do you think? Are these people getting a plus-one at your wedding?

Our guest list started to get a bit out of hand so we had to be really strict about plus ones. Pretty much, married or serious relationship got to bring their other. However, I have groups of friends who I know will just come together and happily leave their hubbies at home, so they were invited solo. Anyone invited who doesn't know anyone else there got a plus one.

I would agree with this as I will be allowing plus one. For my guests that are single it would mark sense to allow them to bring a guests if they don't know anyone else, so they are not left out.

I think most of those don't really count as "plus ones". Plus ones are for people that are single, SO's (be they dating for a month or 8 years) should be invited by name.

We really only extended plus ones to guests that wouldn't know anyone but FH and I at the wedding, which is only 2 people.
