Who gets a wedding favour?

JuneBride, on May 14, 2018 at 17:54 Posted in Wedding reception 0 10

FH and I are having a disagreement on who gets a wedding favor. I know if it's edible everyone attending gets one, but if it's not edible who gets one? Is it one for every couple/family (same people who got an invite) or is it every individual? I'm not sure what we will give, but we are thinking

I do agree with per individual/couple/household. If the family has multiple home, meaning the children living on their own; may count as one home.

I looked at the view when doing the favours. The other thing i did was to send to other family that didn't attend through family members at the wedding.

I would say one per family/couple for non edible things. Most people don't want 2-4 of the same gift in their house. At least I wouldn't Smiley smile

I've always felt that each person should get their own. Otherwise it seems odd to me that if we invite 5 people from one household they get 1 but then a single person also gets 1. Makes me feel like I spent less on those in relationships.

I would say depends on what your giving. If it is a placecard holder, then you will need one for every person. If it is something like in your other two pictures, I would give it to one per couple/household. If the household has older kids though (like over 18+) I would consider giving them a separate one. I remember the first time I moved out, I took a bunch of wedding favours (like bottle openers and small frames) from past weddings my parents had been to. Definitely helpful!

I would say one per couple for the items above.

I would give per couple (unless they are real cheap).

Not everyone even remembers (or wants) to take home a favor! I think you’re totally safe if you do one per couple for these ideas!

I think these are definitely a per couple/household type favour especially the last two.

I think it should be "per household" if it's a picture frame or other household item (so if there's a mother and her 27 year old daughter who live under the same roof and are attending the same wedding each get their own favour regardless of what it is), and per person if it's edible.

It depends. If it's something small then everyone will get one. For the first picture you shared I'd give one to everyone. For the other two I'd do it per family/couple.
