Which came first - Picking your cake flavour or setting your menu?

Menu will be first, then we'll see about desserts afterwards.

We set the menu, we still have not picked our dessert. We will not be doing cake.

We picked our cake first and then a while later we went for our tasting to pick our menu.

We choose a tentative menu the day we picked our venue. then we made cake tasting appoints which was great because we choose flavours that we really loved.

We picked our cake first, and have our tasting in two weeks.

We have a rough idea of what our menu is going to look like and the only talk around cake so far has been cup cakes lol 😂... I will be finalizing these details next week when I’m back home in Ontario.

The cake was always being an issue due to husband's decision to waste money on cake and the end result was excellent and nothing left except for the top tier.

We did both cake tasting and menu tastings. Technically we selected our menu first, but we put equal effort into the cake flavours as well. We were slightly more limited in our selections for menu as we were doing a vegan/vegetarian menu. The cake place where we got our vegan cake had lots of flavours to choose from, that was a lot of fun.

We are not doing a cake, we are doing a dessert table full of cannoli's and other treats from our favorite Italian bakery. We haven't done our menu tasting yet but know what proteins we aer going to serve, so I guess we picked cake first

We knew both of these before we even got engaged. But we still hange things on our menu all the time, so cake flavour I guess. Lol

Menu. We’re not doing cake

I just chose our cake yesterday. Still need to chose the menu.

Setting our menu as we were working on a tight time frame and wanted to make sure our caterer of choice was available.

Menu... tentatively... because it came with our venue package, so we already know what we want to pick (we are doing the deluxe buffet, and we have our top choices)... however we don't commit to our menu til 3 weeks out, and there could be slight changes as they swap from 2018 to 2019 menus.

We went to a Wedding Fair in March, and my fiance and I tried a couple mini-cupcakes, so we know 2 of our 3 cupcake flavours - coconut & lemon... with the third being more rich for the sweet tooth, maybe red velvet or chocolate.

Menu technically. We have a family member doing our cake but haven't told her what we want yet but we're about to hire our caterer.

Menu picked first, as it was part of the venue's contract. Plus, we are not having a cake, we'll most likely have a donut bar/wall!!

It's not fully set yet as we haven't had our tasting, but we have a good idea of what we'd like for our menu.

We're not having a wedding cake, just a dessert that's offered at our venue (it could be cake or it could be something else). We'll choose that when we have our tasting, too.

We actually don’t have either set in stone yet... but a family member is doing our cake, so we’ll probably have to have the menu set first

Cake flavours came first because we had a friend making them so we were able to try it much earlier, while we had to wait for the venue to decide when we could do our menu tasting.

We chose our menu first! We weren’t sure that we wanted cake, so we chose pies, but we decided that after we selected the menu. And we just chose our pie flavours last week (wedding is in three weeks).
