Hello everyone and congratulations to you all! We got engaged in August of 2017 on the Skyline trail in Cape Breton Nova Scotia! We love Cape breton and I have been coming to Cape breton since I was a very young. So this meant alot to me and also to my fiancee. Our wedding is this summer in Cape breton of course!😊♥️
We got engaged in Niagara Falls in November by the Christmas lights. We went for a late night drive to the falls (we live about 20 mins away) we drove along the falls boulevard and up Clifton hill (which is where we had our first date) then he drove past some other memorable places in Niagara Falls and ended up parking in a lot looking above the falls and the Christmas lights. We got out of the car (even though it was 1am and -4 Celsius out) and walked a bit by the trees we stood looking at the lights and we was hugging me from behind. I told him I wanted to go back to the car he told me to wait a few more minutes then I turned around and he was going down on one knee (in the snow) and asking me to marry him. 😍
We got engaged on my parents boat on the ocean off the coast of Vancouver Island! We make a trip out there every year, but this time we were finally able to bring my stepsons...my parents and the boys were included in the engagement and it was so freaking amazing! I wouldnt change a thing!
We got engaged in our kitchen at home. FH is very shy and not a big people person. He had just come home after 2 weeks away and work and we were opening all of his parcels he got while he was gone and I was complaining that I dont get any mail and he was like "well what if I have something for you?" then he went upstairs and when he came back down i was dancing around the kitchen in my jammies holding our cat and he said to me very seriously "put the cat down" and then he asked! It was perfect for us. We love our house, I love being in my jammies and we are always in the kitchen haha.
We got engaged at Niagara Falls. It was my first time there and the first time meeting my father in law and step mother in law. The main reason for doing it there is because we just picked up the engagement ring in Mississauga and my now husband really wanted to propose and give me the ring. It was just beautiful.
We got engaged in an escape room. One of favorite group things is to do escape rooms 😊 so it was perfect. My favorite singer is Emilie Autumn & she wrote an album and a book about an insane asylum; the room we did was asylum themed & the speech my fiancé prepared had a bunch of Emilie's song titles in it, everyone also wore striped socks (it's another reference to the book). It was perfect & I had some of my closest people there.
We were dating for about a year when we made a trip back home to see my family & before getting in the car after visiting my now ex step dad, he stayed behind to have a "chat" & asked for his permission. After that I waited & waited for him to pop the question, but months went by & nothing. Thought I imagined the whole thing. Then 2 years later we went to the park nearby to take our pregnancy announcement (his friend came with us to take the pictures) & he finally did it! I was beyond surprised lol
We got engaged in our living room, which was perfect because it was so intimate and FH is not a very public person

We got engaged in Lake Louise at the Big Beehive Lookout - no special meaning except that we both love the mountains. Unfortunately we couldn't see them that morning through all the fog but it made us feel like we were in our own little world.

We got engaged in Niagara Falls - it doesn’t have any special meaning aside from the fact we got engaged there!
I took him out and woo'd the man okay? I swept him off his feet and all that romantic stuff.
Date: December 30th 2017 (just 10 months into dating)
I took him to the Canad Inns WinterWonderland Light Show and proposed in the tunnel of hearts/love, then took him out for pizza wherever his heart desired, and ended the night with a movie - Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
I took him to the light show and of course it just HAD to be -30°C plus a windchill... so of course I refused to get out of the car to propose and rather proposed to him right there in the car. I had purchased a couples bracelet set from Claire's (that's right, ya girl went all out with a $10 set of bracelets) that said "Her One" and "His Only" on them (although some of you may remember me wearing it as a choker instead as it was so large). Before I could get out half of the words as to why I knew he was the one for me and how I would stick with him through everything that life would throw at us I was crying my eyes out. It was nerves, it was happiness, it was a little gross tbh I mentioned that even though we had only been together for 10 months, even though he was my first and only boyfriend I've had, even though I was only 20 years old to his 27 that THIS WAS IT. There was no need to keep looking because we had found each other.
Of course he said yes, he was shocked and for sure thought I would be proposing at our 1 year anniversary that we would be spending in Prague, Czech Republic - but I did warn him earlier when we were talking marriage back in October 2017 that I would not be proposing on a cliché like Christmas, New Year's Eve/Day, or our anniversary!

FH proposed at the Burlington Botanical Gardens. He was hoping everything would be in bloom, or at least beginning to bloom, but May wasn't particularly great weather wise, so only the tulips were out. He played it off that he wanted to get some good photographs for his portfolio and wanted me to model. He started pacing back and forth at one point, and I just thought he was looking for a good angle, but he was really waiting for less people to be around. Then he knelt down, and pointed his camera up at me like he was going to take a low shot, but then put his camera down and took the ring out. That's the smoothest he's ever been!
