When should i buy a veil/wedding accesories?

Megs, on June 9, 2018 at 13:41 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 10

Im getting married at the end of September of this year. i've decided that I want to add a veil for the ceremony, but i'm not sure how soon i should look into finding one. My fiance and i got engaged in December of last year and because of the short engagement my dress (which i bought in february) won't be ready until 8-6 weeks before the wedding. I want to find a veil and accessories that will match my dress, but i'm worried if i wait until my dress is ready that I won't be able to get it in time for the wedding.

Please HELP!!! lol

I agree with everyone about contacting the bridal salon and seeing if they have anything that would match your dress.

Like some suggest, call or go to your bridal store you went. I'm greeting married mid Sept and the bridal boutique i went told me atleast 2 months before the wedding to get my veil in case I change my mind. usually the veil you can pick the same colour as your dress as well. If there's any laces, you can match it as well.

Check with your bridal salon. Mine told me it needs to be 3 months out... so you'd just have time to order one NOW.

I got my accessories the week of the wedding and only tried them on with the dress the night before. I had a short engagement as well and I live out of province from where I got married, so I had no choice but to do everything last minute.

I choose 3-4 accessories for my wedding dress and tried them all on with the dress the night before to see what would match or what I preferred. I had either borrowed jewellery or cheap jewellery from Claire's/Ardene's to keep the cost down, so if you're fine with that, then you can definitely get them when your dress arrives.

As for the veil, I purchased mine with the dress, so I knew it would match, however, I think 6-8 weeks before will give you plenty of time to purchase one. You can go to David's Bridal where you don't have to order one or buy them from the buy/sell groups on Facebook and bring your dress to see if they match.

    I wouldn't worry too much!

What does the store where you bought your dress say? If they want the sale they should be able to work with you.

Also - are off the rack veils a thing? Maybe you could get one closer to your wedding date that way.

I agree with others about wearing sample dress at a store and trying on veils.

The nice part about accessories is that they dont need to be an exact match to look great! That being said, you could go to s bridal store and show a picture of your dress or let them know which you got and the staff could help you out in picking Smiley smile or, worst case you shouldnt have a problem finding them even after you get your dress since they're not usually "sold out" items or items that need alterations!

Do you have any pictures of yourself in it? Accessories aren't too hard to find. You can research a look you want. I still need to figure out my jewelry Smiley xd

If you got your dress from a bridal salon you could go back and try on veils and headpieces with the sample dress on.

I’m not sure but I know when I was in getting my dress there was another bride and they were telling her some veils can take 4 months to get in (I’m not wearing one this time).

I would look now. If your worried about it matching your dress maybe go to the store where you bought your dress and ask to try on headpieces with the sample dress.
