Because of their closeness to the mountains, trails and ski resorts, I’d say shoulder season like April-May and October-November would be good times to look into. If you want to save money, look at Canmore first, as Banff is always an attractive tourist attraction being in the National Park and all!

Our friends had a beautiful wedding in Banff in February. It was a winter wonderland!

it wasn't that busy -but its tough to say in Banff its always busy- be it skiing, hiking, camping..etc.

Welcome and congrats on your engagement!

As far as off peak goes it varies venue to venue for specifics but usually it’s the winter months like October-April is my venue’s off peak season.

I think mid-October to mid-May is off season. I think most places consider the long weekend in May to be their opening weekend for the summer season and Thanksgiving weekend to be their closing weekend.
