When did you send your wedding invitations?

I am a very anxious person when it comes to planning and my family is pretty spread out. I was considering sending save the dates a year in advance and invitations 5 months in advance so that I have lots of time for the head count and seat assignments. Is that too early?

Yeah it was honestly one of the worst parts of wedding planning. Having to track people down and then having people that you have pictured at your wedding for most of your life RSVP no and not say anything to you in advance was stressful. It was a very emotional and upsetting couple of weeks!

This is my fear is having to track people down . .. that is why we are sending ours early too !

We did not follow the traditional timeline. Because ours was an international wedding, we wanted to make sure that our guests had enough time to save up and get a passport if they needed to. We sent out our Save the Dates a year in advance and then sent out the invitations the beginning of August for a November wedding. We sent out the invitations a bit earlier than "normal" because we needed to know how many people were coming so we could finalize all the details and finish our projects. It took us about 3 weeks after the deadline to track everyone down so I would definitely recommend giving yourself enough time to get a hold of everyone!

We haven't sent anything and won't be for a while as not very many people know yet!

We sent out our save the date cards at the begining of Sept to give our guests lots of notice as summer time is super busy for everyone ...and we wanted everyone to keep our date in mind ... we made fridge magnets!!! we will send out our formal invitations come May ... lots of time to collect all my rsvp and have full head count!!

We are sending digital Save the Dates to our far away relatives.

We will be senidng our invites 8 weeks before the wedding (perhaps 9, as some cards will have a long distance to travel), but I expect we will have them ready long before then.

We have the save the dates ordered and will likely send them out after the holidays in January! December would be too hectic of a time with christmas cards and everything and I don't want my save the dates getting lost in the shuffle. However we already ordered our thank you cards and they were just shipped this morning so now just waiting for them to arrive. We were keeping the same theme as our invitations as we are the thank you cards and so we decided to just get them while there was a 50% off promotion.. We havn't ordered our invitations yet as we are waiting for another promotion!

I have only sent out the Save-The-Date cards in August. But will Oder the wedding invitations in March.
