What's in your welcome basket?

Joey, on October 3, 2017 at 08:11 Posted in DIY 0 10

Welcome bags or baskets are becoming a popular way to show your guests your appreciation for traveling to your wedding. While not necessary or expected, they are a nice way to consider your guests' comfort, and a great way to give your guests some last minute information and reminders they might need to navigate the wedding weekend. Have you ever received a great welcome bag? Will you make them for your wedding? What's in your welcome bag?? Smiley gift

Want to make your own, but not sure where to start? Never heard of these before? Read our article on what to include in the perfect welcome basket!

This is so thoughtful and will definitely put this on my list of things to do if some out of town guests do decided to come! Travelling by plane or long car drive for a wedding is a lot in terms of money and taking time off- the least the wedded couple can do is provide these guests with ideas and a little kit that would help it even a little

I LOVE the idea of a welcome basket! We have many guest (12-25) that will be travelling across North America to attend our wedding and I think it would be a great way to say “we appreciate that you’re here and want you to be comfortable!”.

I’ve never received a welcome basket, but for those weddings I’ve travelled for, it would have been appreciated!

We will be doing a wedding website where we will have the information for the city and things to do, etc. I do want to provide a bathroom emergency kit.

And sunscreen and water bottles since it is an outdoor ceremony in July.

I would love to do this for our guests staying in our hotel as most of them are traveling 7+ hours to be there. I'm not really sure what to put in it though. We have a dessert here in Thunder Bay that I may add in plus some of our beer from our local breweries. What else would you add?

Oh my goodness I hadn't heard of this idea and I love it! The only tricky part will be getting one to the guests who have chosen to stay at another hotel than our group booking. Maybe I'll hand them out at the meet and greet the day before. Sounds awesome though!

One wedding we went to had all sorts of things for the day after the wedding: a "Do not disturb, we were at X & Y's wedding" door hanger, Advil packs, ear plugs, hair elastics, Emergen-C ... basically a post-wedding hangover kit Smiley laugh

My cousin did this for her wedding and I loved it... still considering doing it!!
    She had
something salty, something sweet, advil, bottle of water and I feel like there was juice too? but can't remember exactly.
If i do go ahead with it... I'm going to put in:
Granola bar/pringles/halloween candy {as my wedding is in October}/ packet of advil & tums & gum. Water & gatorade. and maybe some information on the town/shuttle etc.

We didn't do this. We sent everyone e-mails with information related to the wedding but not welcome bags. I think it is a nice gesture but can also be really costly depending on the size of your wedding and/or what gifts you include.

I didn't do these. However my cousin did these and put them all in the hotels rooms of everyone attending her wedding. Her husbands last name is faver and so she made a hashtag "myfaveritewedding" ... so she made a do not disturb sign, her own labels for water bottles and on these candys, she put in chocolate and chips, and then she had everything we needed to know about the details of the day for shuttle times etc and on the back of the page, all the things to do in the small town she was married in (restauraunts and entertainment). I thought it was a neat idea, and until her wedding, I had never heard of it!
