It was all memorable for us! Our focus was to ensure enough food and drink because we did not have a dance or activity based wedding, and the decorations were minimum cost (just flower centerpieces) because the venue was a classily decorated old building itself. Speeches were few and brief.

make sure you have a dress you feel comfortable in, and think about what you enjoy most and make that the focus of your wedding. This approach worked out for us and we were both extremely happy with the outcome.

I will check out that link, thanks! Lol, omg I can't imagine trying to eat dinner at a wedding with a deaf fish floating in front of you.

Same -- keeping it simple and classy. The most I want to spend is $35 per centrepiece. Martha Stewart has this article on affordable centrepieces that don't look cheap. She included food and I think fake wreath examples! I don't remember any centrepieces either from any wedding I've been to. Just a failed one from my fiance's neighbour. (She tried to put goldfish in a clear vase, and most of them died...)

Good choices! I was also thinking about the best way to keep centrepieces simple, I've been trying to think of food or a fake wreath with some short candles, to keep them out of the way. I can't say I even remember what the centrepieces for any wedding I've attended looked like.

Definitely agree about food and music. Those are the two things I always manage to remember as well. Was considering splurging on live entertainment with a mix of DJ, but keeping the centrepieces simple (tall candleabras instead of flowers for e.g.).

Not married yet, but as a guest, in order of memorability: speeches, food, music, drinks, decorations. I'm also thinking activities might be the way to go. You can't spend on speeches, but really, food and music I think are where you have to commit the $$.
