What Was on Your Wedding Playlist?

Sara, on July 23, 2018 at 12:02 Posted in Wedding reception 0 6
I'm curious what songs others have chosen for things like walking down the aisle, walking out of the ceremony as a married couple, your first dance, your dance with parents, other special reception dances, as well as songs that were must-plays on your playlist throughout the night.
So far, we have chosen our first dance song - Bright by Echosmith - but we haven't decided on many others. I've been thinking of maybe My Girl by the Temptations as I walk down the aisle and I want to surprise him by having them play Watta Man by Salt n Peppa when he is making his way to the front hahaha
We definitely have to have the song Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede at some point during the reception, and I've been considering making it the song we talk out of the ceremony to. Friends of ours walked out to Signed Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder a couple years ago and I really liked that one as well but kind of want to do something different.

My Dad-Daughter dance will for sure be Bufferfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle because my Dad has always wanted that one.

Other songs that won't have an official part in the wedding but will definitely be on the playlist are:- Marry You - Bruno Mars
- Backstreet's Back - Backstreet Boys (just because it's mah jaaaam)- That's Amore - Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin- Blank Space and Shake it Off - T-Swift (just because they're fun)- I'm Real - Ja Rule and J-Lo (lol)- Safe and Sound - Hawksley Workman- Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen- I Got You - Hollerado- A bunch of 90s hip hop and 2000s pop probably haha and probably a few classic rock ballads.

I love putting together playlists for camping, BBQs and other parties so I am definitely looking forward to building our playlist and guarantee it'll end up being my favourite part of planning!

We both love to throw parties and music is KEY so it'll be such a blast! As opposed to picking flowers and dresses lo

I walked down the aisle to Harry in Winter from a Harry Potter soundtrack, we had some jazz playing while guests arrived and during cocktail hour and dinner, we had Say Hey (I love you) by Michael Franti and Spearhead as our recessional song.

Our reception playlist was a mix of wedding classics and songs we really like. We put it together ourselves and it was a really fun part of planning.

We played an instrumental piece for the wedding party, I walked down to "How long will I love you" by Ellie Goulding. During the signing of the licence, the song was supposed to be "two is better than one", and Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Callait was the song at the end of the ceremony.

I can't remember the other ones; my husband was in charge of music!

Ohhhh my goodness. I'm too far out to have made very many song choices... except our first dance is going to be "From the Ground Up" by Dan & Shay.

But seriously!? I laughed HARD when I read you're gonna get them to play Watta Man... Omg... That's too funny. I may have to borrow this idea. My fiance would crack up.
