What vendors to book first

Ceremony and photo and video would be the next things i would book.

First things I booked : venue, photographer and videographer because they were very important to me and flowers. If there is an officiant you really want I’d also book that because they book up quickly especially if they’re more popular

We had our photographer tentatively booked before we even confirmed our venue because we knew who we wanted and didn’t want to miss out 😋 I don’t think there’s a such thing as “too early” with booking any of the main vendors tho! We booked our DJ about 10 months before the wedding and we were his last Saturday for his summer season!

Photographer and DJ so you can get your day booked and deposit down. They do get easily booked for the right price. Then the florist and Officiant to ensure you get all you need based on your décor colours and style.

I feel like officiants are something people overlook - usually they can only perform one wedding a day ( depending on where and what time the ceremony is)

We booked our photographer/videographer shortly after booking our venue. My photographer is saying a lot of people are already inquiring and booking for 2021. Like others said, the earlier the better so you can get the best pricing possible and have more options!

I would definitely do photography next! That was our second vendor booking as well because they book up so quickly. I don't think you're too early at all - better to get all your vendors at the best pricing possible!

I would say to go with photographer, that and the DJ would be next imo. Other big ones that I would say to get a jump start on would be an officiant, videographer, and then the outfits like your wedding dress.

I would do the photographer next. Now that you have a date and a location there isn't much reason to wait. You can also lock in the 2020 pricing incase their rates go up as they get more popular and in demand.

Photographers book up fast, especially in summer time, so if you've found one that you like and can get a deal then I'd say do it. A year out is when I started really getting into booking vendors, but I did my research prior to booking them so I could compare packages and portfolios. Finding an officiant was more time consuming for me actually. They also book up quickly because you literally can't get married without one lol and for whatever reason that didn't click with me right away, so that's what I'd be looking into first if you're not getting married at a church.
