What to do when there's no honeymoon after?

Gabrielle, on July 19, 2018 at 20:20 Posted in Wedding reception 0 18
So I know me and my fiance won't be able to go on our honey till a few months after.. we are having our reception at a hotel hall. I'm afraid that the party will end at around 10:30 and there will only be a few people left that were close to. 10:30pm is super early and it's not like we are running off to our honeymoon or need to go to bed early... Any ideas on what to do after the reception?

We are not going to be able to afford a honeymoon as our wedding is destination for us, we have my best friends wedding 2 months later, also destination. AND we have his older brothers wedding 4 months after ours in LA (destination for us as we live in AUstralia!!) So safe to say we will be enjoying our wedding night & night after at Chateau Lake Louise.

We will also use his brothers wedding as an excuse to have a little mini moon at disneyland which I am beyond excited for!!

I would definitely try and have an extra night or two at a hotel & try and enjoy your time together! or go find a pub/bar to party at with those people who want to continue on after the reception!

We won't be doing a honeymoon until much later either, I'm loving the idea of a mini moon at the hotel! We get a suite at our hotel where we're having our wedding, maybe we can try to extend the stay for a couple of nights!

That's what my fiancé and I are doing too! We're going to take the official honeymoon at a later date, so we're heading to Banff for a mini moon the day after the wedding.

Our wedding will be ending around 9:00, since that's when the restaurant closes. My parents will be taking my kiddos for the night, so we will have some time afterwards to do whatever. We have a few friends who are coming down from ON, so we are hoping to go out (to a bar/pub), or hang out at our hotel room, or another friends place afterwards. I definitely don't want the night to end when the restaurant closes and there's a last call! We are pretty chill, and it doesn't need to be extravagant. Smiley smile

We aren't having a honeymoon, period. Due to an impending surgery on my part, we had to cancel our honeymoon the week following the wedding.

We were out in the middle of nowhere for our wedding and I thought people might want to leave early to go back to the hotel but that was not the case. People were chatting, dancing, hanging out at the camp fire or just socializing. Anyone staying at the hotel got picked up by transportation at either 10:30 or 12:30 and then some of us were staying on site and we were up until 3am!

We are not doing a honeymoon after the wedding, our reception will end at midnight but it is at a bar. If we feel we want to continue the party we have free cover at the bar downstairs.

When do you have your hall until? If you have the hall until later, I don't think you need to go anywhere else, just hang out with the people that are still there. Turn the music down a bit so you can talk, maybe order some apps from your venue during this time (will probably have to pre-order these though) or check to see if you can order in some pizzas (some places don't allow outside food). I think you will find you will be tired by then as it is a very long day!

I booked a honeymoon suite for 3 nights! One before wedding, wedding night and then the next night (no early check out)

We're not doing our Honeymoon right away either! I think after the wedding we'll have a nice bath (got a jacuzzi in the hotel room) and just enjoy some calm after the storm together~ Get all kinds of room service and be as lazy as possible!

Honestly don't worry about the after reception! Chances are you'll be exhausted by 10:30 anyways and will just want to go and cuddle with your new spouse!

Haha well... maybe after a nice hot tub, and a nice long sleep... lol.
But yeah, the one thing I'm missing out on is our wedding night, sort of... we wrap up at midnight, and we are going straight to the hotel, but we have an international flight the next day... so I think it's mostly going to be sleeping and trying to curb any hangovers lol.

I'm defs feeling the snuggly day after vibes. Minus the making it official part, pretty sure I'm just going to fall asleep in a jet bath and eat an entire pizza.

What about a mini moon? That’s what my fiancé and I are doing. We won’t have the time to go on a honeymoon until the following year. We are planning on taking a few days to the mountains for a little get away. Even if you have a mini staycation where you get a nice hotel for a night or two and plan a nice dinner or whatever your both interested in.

I would do a mini splurge on a nice hotel room (maybe even a suite?) Have a nice wedding night with your new hubby! Get some champagne, late night snack, try and find a place with a soaker tub or jacuzzi! Then ask for late check out... wear those white robes, order a delicious room service brunch... just enjoy waking up as husband and wife with no responsibilities or distractions!
Not to mention the more fun, traditional part... making the marriage official! Haha.

Take a mini moon. Just go someplace nice for the weekend. We're taking a mini moon for 4 days. Just to spend alone time and destress a little. We're planning the honeymoon in the winter when our schedules are free

Went to a wedding where afterwards we just all went to the bride and groom’s suite and drank and had a little after party. Depending where you are, there’s nothing stopping you guys from going full wedding dress and tux to a club or somewhere for drinks, that could be fun. Even just walking around town dressed up. Not sure what you’re into though
