Hey wonderful ladies!

I'm sure you want to look your absolute best on your wedding day! Smiley kiss But what should you do if you don't like your hair or makeup? Smiley surprise

1 - The first thing should be to take preventive measures and do a hair or makeup trial before the big day to make sure you like your style.

2 - Say something! Tell your hair or makeup specialist what you don't like and what you would like to change.

Any other suggestions?

What will you do if you don't like your hair or makeup on your big day? Smiley surprise

These are great tips Emilie, and I agree, a trial is definitely worth your time and money because you can choose to stay with that stylist or move on a try another one! I would way rather try a few stylists at a trial then hate my look on the wedding day. And saying something is always fine, especially when its your wedding and you are paying for the service!

I think these are great tips and the most important one is to speak up! You're going to have these photos for the rest of your lives so it's better to say something as soon as possible. (Politely of course.) I didn't have any problems with my hair and makeup but one of our hair stylists for the bridesmaids wasn't at the trial and while I was assured that she would be able to do the hairstyle we requested, she had a hard time with one of my sister's hair. It wasn't turning out properly and I could tell my sister was uncomfortable about how it looked so I asked her to fix it. She did the best she could but unfortunately couldn't achieve the look how we wanted. Luckily we finished early so my hair stylist was able to go back and redo it and it looked amazing! I could tell my sister was relieved. The other hair stylist had left at that point so I don't know that she even know that we ended up re-doing it. We were able to resolve it without any tears or freakouts so I think the main thing is to remain calm and work through it.

You'll be on a bit of a time crunch on the day of the wedding so the hair and makeup trial is definitely the best place to try things out so you're not experimenting the day of. Make sure to take lots of pics to refer back to! The stylists will probably take some pics too but it's always good to have a backup in case they forget how they did something at the trial.

Say something, nicely... I'm having a friend do our hair and am a bit worried that one of the BM will hurt his feelings if she doesn't like it... Talked to him about it and he said not to worry, if necessary he will remind her he is not the help... That particular BM will be doing the make-up.

I'm all for the SAY SOMETHING!! You are paying for a service, and should be satisfied with the result. You will be looking at these pictures for a long time- so don't settle.

But- don't be a jerk. Either have a trial and agree on a style at that time, or have a lot of pictures and details to describe your ideal look. Also, be realistic. A lot of the styles we see on pinterest have fake hair pieces and extensions added to acheive the dramatic looks...you should be talking to your stylist ahead of time to see if you will need any enhancers to get the loook you want. Hairstylists can be great, be don't ask them for miracles! It isn't fair to have unrealistic expectations and then get upset when you aren't prepared.

As far as makeup is concerned, remember that your MUA will know the products that will show up on camera, and it will likely be WAY more make up than any of us are used to wearing! Your every-day looks will not show up on an HD photo, so asking your MUA to go easy on it isn't always the best idea. They will also be able to tell you if the look you are asking for will work with your bone structure and face shape or not...another reason to have a trial! Pick a few looks you like, and work with your artist to create a look that suits you personally, so have a little faith in your pros! Communication will get you a long way before any product touches your face.

There aren't really any other options other than to undo everything once the hair and makeup person leave and start fresh which would take more time. Trial is a good way to get a feel for the person. I think if you say something to them politely the day of, you can avoid any trouble at all.
