What questions to ask when checking out a venue?

Taylor, on June 8, 2017 at 23:58 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 3
I am going to look at my first venue on Saturday and I am just wondering what questions you found to be really helpful? I feel like I will forget to ask certain things.
Thanks!

Do they provide a day-of coordinator, how many other weddings there might be on the same day, how far in advance they require final counts of food choices, what their minimum person count is, how they expect to lay out the tables and dance floor.

We asked for different quotes (estimated cost) what it would cost with or without a cash bar, open bar, etc... we asked if they cater their own food, liquor etc or if need to provide those things ourselves. We asked if they provide any decorations, uplighting, backdrops, table linens, etc! Most venues I went to gave us a wedding package with all the different costs, meal options etc so I would ask if they have one of those to! Also we asked for a list of any recommended vendors for things like dj, photographer, bakery's in the area and for their business cards or names! Also we asked for a tour of the place to see if it is spacious enough or to see if we really like it. Also definitely ask how many people they fit comfortably!! Hopefully this is helpful, and if I think of any other questions, I will let you know !! Ps take lots of photos of the hall, if they let you. Then you can always look at photos and compare to other venues and list your likes and dislikes!

If they host multiple weddings a day! Our venue has the capacity to host two weddings at once (one staring at 3 and the other at 5), but the owner said it usually only happens twice a year. We had the option to pay an extra $5000 to reserve the whole venue but we opted to take out chances since we booked the better time slot and it doesn't happen often. You'll want as much information on that as possible to be properly informed and avoid any surprises
