What question do you get asked most often now that you're engaged?

Joey, on June 1, 2019 at 14:05 Posted in WeddingWire 0 26

"When's the big day?"

"Do I get a plus one?"

"Who is in the wedding party?"

"Who am I sitting with?"

"Are you going on a honeymoon?"

"Are you changing your name?"

"When are you having kids?"

"Are you sure about this?!"

Now that you're engaged, what question do you get asked the most?

What question do you get asked most often now that you're engaged? 1

We were constantly getting asked what we had left to do and if we were nervous!

It will come I am sure, I had my Aunt actually scoff when I told her we weren't in a rush for kids.

First question was about a date, once we set a date we had a lot ask us where it would be. Next was about our honeymoon, kids and if I was changing my name. It was exhausting

"when's the big day?" & "How's the planning going?" are for sure the top questions.. no one has asked us about kids yet which I think is great!

I've been asked when the big day is but also have been asked a few times when we are having kids.

For us, as of now, it’s definitely “when is the big day”. I’m pretty excited and want to share with everyone but obviously I don’t and just tell them “ you’ll know when you get an invitation” lol

    You're not allowed, no.

But we don't live in Québec. Since we live in Alberta, I'll be free to change my name once we get back home.

For sure when we first got engaged the #1 was "Are you sure, you're so young and haven't even been together for a year??". Then after assuring them, it changed to "When????" and now that they know that answer they have moved onto the question of "When are you having kids???". There will always be a question Smiley tongue

When are you having kids? Is the question I mostly asked. I am not sure if it's a cultural thing (I'm from the Philippines) but yeah let me get married first you know..😂

How's the planning going? : Once they see my face, they never ask me again! I'm excited about the wedding, don't get me wrong, but there is still SO much left to do. I'd rather not talk about it.

Who's in your wedding party? : We don't have a wedding party, so the follow up question is usually "So nobody's helping you with the wedding?".

Are you changing your name? : I am!

So, if you're changing your name, does that mean you've changed your mind about having kids? : No! We don't want kids.

What surprises me the most, is that it's the people I know the least that ask me the most probing/personal questions. I'm trying to find a diplomatic way of telling them it's none of their business hahaha.

    When is the big day?
Where are you having it? (Our venue is fairly new to the scene so no one seems to have heard of it)
Do you have your dress? (And then proceed to tell me which dress I should get when I've answered I haven't)

It's always uncomfortable when people who aren't invited ask these questions and say 'I can't wait to see your wedding on the big day!' 😅

In addition to "how's the planning going," I also get "how many people are invited" A LOT, which kinda suprises me.

Either “how is the planning going” or “when is the wedding?”.

My boss never remembers anything and he asks me when the wedding is 2-3 times a week!

Mine is either “How’s wedding planning going?” Or “Are you getting excited for the wedding?”

The #1 question we get is "when's the big day?" And we've changed it like 3 times so can't even tell someone an answer yet haha
