Food is definitely important and making sure the evening flows smoothly. I hate having to sit around for things to happen. We are going to have an interactive Photo Booth which will help our guests pass sometime and keep them busy! Good music, especially geared towards the age majority in attendance helps too.

As a guest I enjoy having a couple drinks. I have been to a dry wedding and it was just not enjoyable for me. I also like having music playing and everyone dancing; it is a celebration after all and everyone should be having a good time dancing! When you see people just sitting around, the energy comes down a lot. I don't like long pauses in between things and when you are just sitting around wondering what is going on etc.. I like seeing different things at a wedding, that maybe is different from other weddings. For example the shoe game, it is fun to watch everyone's reactions and what not!

Short speeches without a ton of inside jokes that only 2 people in the room get. I know it's a chance for people to really share their bond, but the rest of the room is really isn't enjoying it. I went to one wedding where the mother of the bride talked for 20 minutes about the entire history of the bride and groom's relationship - it was painful to sit through.

Great food is another must and good music.

Short speeches, good food, good bar, good music and lots of fun and good times. We have a photo booth which will be fun as well! I hate when speeches and dinner take up most of the evening or when you don't really know what is happening.

No long speeches, dinner not an all evening event. I want to be with my guests socializing, dancing, silly dances, a couple funny games like the bride and groom shoe game. Just being present at my own wedding and enjoying it, and not worrying about what went wrong, if that cake falls on the floor I'm just going to say oh well no one eats it anyway, and continue dancing. Hey I'm the person that lets my nieces open their Christmas presents as soon as I walk in the door a day before Christmas.

No long pauses in between things, I have always hated that time span between the ceremony and cocktail hour/reception. We once waited around for 5 hours it was like pulling teeth.
