What kind of pre-wedding party is your fav?

Joey, on November 7, 2018 at 08:05 Posted in Before the wedding 0 13

There are so many fun ways to celebrate a couple before their wedding day. Are you a lover of elegant engagement parties? Do you get super excited for showers? Are Jack & Jills your jam? Or do you prefer to party it up at bachelor/bachelorette parties?

What type of pre-wedding party is your favorite?

We're skipping most of the pre-wedding events, like the shower and engagement party I've never been to a 'Jack & Jill', so it was never on our radar.

The only one we're doing is the Bachelor/Bachelorette party. I'm not sure what my FH has planned yet (probably golfing somewhere!), but I'll be going to Palm Springs with a handful of my best gals for a weekend! I'm pretty pumped about it!

I actually like shower games so I was excited for that! My shower and bachelorette were the same day to accommodate my out-of-town family.

We're probably doing a joint bachelor/bachelorette trip, but I'm most excited for the bridal shower.

My sister (MOH) definitely knows this about me... She has already asked me if there's anything I definitely DON'T want to do, to which I said "lots of drinking, or clubbing"... We were originally going to do a winery weekend at my mom's house on Vancouver Island... she has a gourmet kitchen, and it would have been a whole weekend of R&R, but the schedules just haven't worked out... we're still 2 months out but we've got a lot of plans/Christmas between now and the wedding... so I think a whole weekend is too much for now. Maybe I'll have a post-wedding bachelorette weekend Smiley laugh

The only thing we are doing is bachelor and bachelorette parties. and I am SOOOO excited for my bach. biggest reason is that my MOH/best friend will be there. and I haven't seen her in 6 years (she lives in the states). plus just having a weekend with my friends will be FANTASTIC!

Talk to your sisters about that then.

last year I helped host a bach. and we did a variety of activities that weren't all drinking related. we rented a house that everyone could fit in. did all the meals at the house (I was the "chef" for the weekend), we did an escape room, a distillery tour, board games at the house, decorated cookies. then went out to a country bar that night (bride LOVES country). it was great. and just a nice 2 nights away.

I had my bridal shower super early (4.5-5 months out) due to family/friends being in town one weekend only. I loved it. I am not a big partier/drinker, and living in BC we get 2 pre-wedding parties: the shower and the bachelorette.

I had a high tea party, and my mom hand made so many delicious snacks and desserts. It was perfect.

I'm not even looking forward that much to my bachelorette, as I only have a few close female "friends" (mostly my sisters), and as I said, not a big partier. I would probably actually want to just have more of an experience (escape room, comedy club, spa day, etc...)

I'm really excited for the Jack & Jill because it will be the first time that our extended families will really get the chance to mix and mingle. The Jack & Jill will also be my first real time planning a party and I'm quite excited for that.

I’m most excited for the bridal shower! It will be a really nice kickoff to the wedding to have most of my favourite people together.
