What kind of neckline should my bridesmaids dresses have if my dress is off the shoulder?

Jenny, on October 26, 2021 at 19:39 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 6
I am 100% not into the whole “bridesmaids in mismatching dresses” trend. It just isn’t me - I think it looks nice, but it just isn’t what I want. I want all my bridesmaids in the same colour and the same dress. So with that being said - what kind of neckline should I be looking for if my dress is off the shoulder? Should I look for off the shoulder dresses for my bridesmaids/maid of honour as well or should I choose something totally different? I’m at a loss here lol.

I would just see what style of dress looks good on the bridesmaids based on their bodies. I wouldn't worry about not standing out. I mean, one would hope that you won't blend in when you're in the centre of attention and the only one in white.

I'd say go with a different neckline but with that being said my dress and my bridesmaids dress has a verrryy similar neckline!

I agree with Amanda that choosing a different neckline from yours would definitely stand out. I’m thinking of also going with an off-the-shoulder dress and so if that’s the case then for my bridesmaids I might look for a halter or strapped dress for instance. If you’re also wanting to have your bridesmaids in matching styled dresses, you may also want to consider what they’d be comfortable in when choosing a neckline. For instance, if you have a bridesmaid with a larger bust size (as a bustier person myself), they may not be comfortable sitting all day in a lower cut or thin strapped dress having to adjust their dress all day long, whereas someone else may be perfectly happy with that style. Just an example, obviously every person has their own comforts and tastes, but if you’re having multiple girls in your party it might be worth it to take them all shopping together to try on some dresses and see what works and what doesn’t and what they like before you commit to a particular style.

I would choose a different neckline for your bridesmaids if your dress is off the shoulder. You want to stand out on your wedding day and not blend in!
