What is your next to do on your list?

Rayanne, on June 21, 2021 at 22:13 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 25
Are you just starting to plan? Are you almost done? My next "to do" is to make the appointment to get our rings made. I'll be calling this week to see when we can come in to speak to them. I recently bought a mirror to make a wedding sign but I still need to firm up all the times of the wedding before I can actually finish it. We still need to have our tasting which is when we will have the times set for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. I am hoping to wait till the end of summer or even sometime in September before we do that. We're hoping by then there may be more information about what a January wedding will look like. I'll be able to make the invitations after that....so much to still get done!

What is your next step? How much longer do you have to wait for that to come up in calendar?

For sure - I knew 2022 was booking up crazy fast so I figured I'd get a jump start on 2023 because that will fill up earlier than normal I think!

August this year, it will come to 4 years. There is a way to tell how many years is because one of the in laws had their boy August 1 the same year. Its amazing how family can make things happen especially to remember the years together. Maybe in a few more years possible or celebrate 2 events of anniversary and retirement of my husband too.

The planning process wouldn't be for a wedding, a anniversary celebration instead with all the vendors from what I had used except for one to go back to the original. The venue would be changed though for sure since it would be closer to the family with parents not able to move as much.

    Good question Rayanne!
    We have 114 days remaining.
Right now, we’re about to sign the contract on the venue and check in with our caterers. Then we have to create our DIY projects — table decor, photo filter for the guests, bouquets 💐, etc. So excited!!

That is for sure its crazy how hard it'll be for anyone starting right now. So much is booked and still getting canceled and rebooked!

I feel the same way, I felt like I needed to get the majority of the important things booked so I'm ahead of the wedding wire schedule. I also think the "normal" schedule of planning is kind of out the window because of covid and high demands/low availability

Next step is finalizing our menu and firming up with our caterer/paying the deposit. I also just booked some bridal dress appointments (appts aren't until late August but figured I could get them scheduled so as we see Ontario start to open up and more brides starting to have bridal shopping appts in person again, I wouldn't have to wait with high demand).
I'd also like to start looking at officiants in the next month or so.

We just had our tasting out on a patio at the venue. It feels so nice to have something resembling a normal date night.

I had my venue booked close to two years ahead as well. Pretty well had everything booked early. We have some major things to still do but we've had a lot of down time....time to get back at it.

Not going to lie I am way ahead of the wedding wire schedule lol. It starts at 12 months out but we are getting married in 2 years and I didn't want to wait to start planning. So we have our venue booked which is perfect. Now I'm looking into photography since good pictures are super important to me. Trying not to go too crazy with booking everything because with each thing you book, there is a deposit required and we need to save some money! But I'm excited and I'm a big planner so this is my jam!!

It sucks having to wait to wait for things! We are using a local restaurant that I have ate at multiple times so im not too worried about the tasting but since it's included in their catering package, we might as well enjoy it!

I can hardly wait for our tasting lol. We had our scheduled last April 2020 (April fool's day actually) which was canceled. I've already been to a wedding at our venue so I'm not too worried about not liking the food but I'd like to get all the details set. I have so many projects pending that I need exact times.

FH needs to go see about his suit so as well. Maybe I'll suggest he schedule that soon. It is easier since there will only be two of them. At least we won't need to worry about too many people at the appointment.

We need to get our marriage license. I sent in the application and waiting for the government to confirm an appointment so I can pick it up.

Next, we need to order our rings.

After that, we need to send invites, which will be sometime in mid-July. We're hoping once we're in Step 2, we'll have some indication on what Step 3 looks like and send invites accordingly. Because of that, we're shortening the response window so that we can invite others if anyone declines.

In late July, we'll need to do another venue site visit to firm some details based on whatever information comes out from the government.

By early August, I'll need to procure all the AV equipment we'll need for the ceremony, including what we'll be using for our virtual component.

My fiance and I will be picking up our flowers from our florist here in the next couple of weeks. Since we have artificial flowers, it'll be nice to finally have them done and ready to go for next year. I can't wait to see the final product! We also have to go and start looking at what kind of suit my fiance and best man want to wear. Invitations are ready to go, I just have to print them from home closer to the date. My dress needs to be altered but I won't take my dress in until around May of next year. Everything else is done and ready to go!

The next few things on my to do list is book ceremony location, catering and florist. Oh and I guess finding my dress! We have a catering tasting July 5, a florist consultation on July 12 and I have multiple dress appts on July 2/3.
