I am thinking of just doing the cutting cake for saving and pictures since there are already desserts with the buffet and our timeline isn't very long. The ceremony starts at 530 and we have to be out at 1 am and in that time there are appetizers, buffet and midnight lunch.

Thanks for the idea of using Costco for the sheet cakes! I hadn't thought of that! I just checked into that for flowers so using it for some dessert is a good idea : )

Hello Kaci They are pricey, aren't they?! How about other types of desserts? Like cupcakes, fruits, cookies, etc. Alternatively, some people opt for just buying only one tier for cutting purposes, photo ops or conserving, etc, and buy a sheet cake that is much less costly and tends to be tasty (from Costco or grocery store, favourite bakery, etc). We made big strides this week: think we found a DJ and am deciding that I might just go with the photographer that I have already contacted. Made some little progress on other things. Just realizing how pricey wedding cakes are--pricey for me since it's not a priority for me. Any tips on wedding cakes?

I'm feeling good. I just sent a long email to the venue confirming DJ, food, table options and timing. I also requested quotes on decor options so I'm feeling like I've accomplished something now!

I've begun the first two tasks in my wedding planning! I've booked 3 venue tours for this Saturday - can't wait to see them, so excited! I've also created the first draft of our guest list.

I am so happy to hear that things are back on track for you! Don't let one situation or person ruin your special day. Fingers crossed the rest of the way is less stressful for you.

It doesn't. It's just that we have had so much stress come from this one situation that it's just made everything really not enjoyable. We've had a few days to stew and vent about it all and have decided to move on regardless of the situation (person).

In terms of the wedding I havn't gotten anything accomplished. I talked to a travel agent and we are thinking Jamaica for our honeymoon. But my jack and jill is this Saturday and so our focus is trying to get everything prepared for that right now!

I haven't done anything. Seems as though everything is on a stand still as we are having issues with a family member. We are lost about what to do and there have been conversations about potentially putting a hold on planning until things calm down.

Hmmm, this week I made My Fairy Glow jars for Thank you Gifts for our Guest. Glitter trees for Decore, Handmade carnations for Our Centrepieces and Made our Toasting Glasses for us. Got our Food Ordered. It's been a busy week so far. I have another 20 Carnations to make over the next few days.

This week I was able to reach out to a bunch of venues, book some viewings of some that we are interested in and was able to get one of those viewings done too.

We are getting married in Miramichi... We are both from the East coast so less far for our families to travel.
