What gifts did you give?

Charlotte, on June 4, 2021 at 07:40 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 5
What did you /plan to give those who helped with the wedding as a gift? (Parents, wedding party, officiant...) I need some inspiration and ideas!

We spent quite a bit on wedding related stuff like jewelry, outfits, and makeup/hair for the parents and bridal party so we didn't feel pressured into buying fancy trinkets or a lavish gift. Even though the outfits and jewelry could be used outside of the wedding, it would feel like a cop-out of a gift since we did get it specifically for the wedding. So we just spent a modest amount on gifts that appealed to each person.

You don't need to individually get each other's parents something. You can always present the gift as a united couple (best time to do it, since it is your wedding day!)

Are you paying your officiant? If so, there's no need for a gift since they're a vendor.

For bridal party we've given them all wine glasses and beer mugs that says best man and maid of honor. For parents we've given them also the wine glasses and beer mugs that says mother of groom mother of bride father of bride father of groom etc. Ive also gotten for my parents I'm made the handkerchiefs that have a special saying on them for each of them

Gifts for the wedding party were given as the MOH x2 perfume samplers set and BM (Best Men) x2 received cologne sets. Generally parents get albums for the pictures though they don't need anything else from us. We also help out family members whose wedding is taking place by asking what they need than going out to buy it. Sometimes in return, they give gifts as wine or shirt to us cousins. It doesn't happen all the time as long as we always appreciate the help given at the request of others. This goes for outfit shopping as well.

I thought I’d do something cute like that for my MIL, maybe not jewellery.

    My parents I’m not sure!
My girls I have robes (for the moms too) and a little knot bracelet. I feel like I should get a little something else but idk.
My fiancée has a cool bbq hockey set for the guys that they’ll love and socks.
He needs to get his parents something correct? Does he need to get my parents something? Do I need to get his dad something? What do we get the officiant - my parents neighbour? Do I need to get our MC’s something (close friends)? What about my aunt and cousin who are doing hair and make up??

I'm doing something like this for my FMIL.

For my bridesmaids I've gotten them earrings and a bracelet so far (I plan on getting them a necklace too) I've also gotten them robes and a hanger with their name on it. I also wanna get them some slippers and maybe something else I'm not too sure yet.
So far my Fiancé has decided on super hero cufflinks and super hero socks for his groomsmen.
