What Colour Should the Groom and Groomsmen Wear?...

Kayla, on June 9, 2020 at 15:39 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 10

The bridesmaids are all in forest/emerald green long dresses (two in silk, two in velvet, all different dresses and shades of green). The men will be in jeans, cowboy boots, and a vest but we are unsure what colour their vests and shirts should be as we do not want too much green (this is also a June wedding so we want it to still feel spring-like and not too dark). Also any bouquet colour ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Oh I'm a little late to the party here but yes, grey would definitely compliment the green so well!

I was in a wedding a couple years ago (actually 2 years ago June 5) and the dress color was dark green and the guys wore grey suits.

The only different opinion that I can give here is that they bouquets and boutonnieres had yellow in them; that was their third color. That small touch of color just POPPED against the grey and green and it complimented them so well! Yellow isn't everyone favorite color but it looked amazing in the photos.

Grey would be very nice! And no they do not need to match the girls shade of green (would be too overpowering I think). I will look at lighter shades of green too! Thanks so much!

I think grey would compliment. a light grey would be nice. do you want them to match? if so you can do a tad shade lighter green?

It's such an overlooked neutral! And if the guys are buying they might be able to wear a white shirt or a grey vest again vs a more trendy color.

Do you want the guys to match the girls by colour? Do they need a single colour for all the guys? Or does it not matter?

Since you seem to be going for a western theme, you don't necessarily need a single colour per se. As long as the guys are more or less in some kind of forest colour palette, it could work. Any combination of dark greens, browns (including tan, champagne), grey, and even burgundy can work. If you use green, I would keep it on the cooler side like olive or sage rather than emerald green otherwise they could look like leprechauns lol.

For shirts, keeping them white will not only bring out contrast but liven up whatever brown/green you're using to not feel overly autumn-like. If you keep the shirt, jeans, and hat the exact same for all the guys, they still look cohesive while having the opportunity to be slightly individualistic with the vest colours as well as accessories like belts or pocket square if your vests have them.

Grey would complement the green nicely. You could go with a light cool tone so it isn't too hot or dark.
