Hey everyone. Just wanting to read what your back up plans are, if you have any.

I did a bunch of research for venues and catering prior to decisions with FH. Just in general, liking the food and Price. I ended up with my first choice for venue but second choice for catering and honestly just having the phone number and a quick quote from them made it a breeze to touch base with them and make sure my date was still available. Once the deposit is down there should be no back outs but I still have my plan C in memos 😉

Ha what a great idea! Blue rain boots. Black diamond is in Alberta.

We were supposed to get married at the gazebo on the golf course property. It was September 24th and we were expecting a nice fall day, but to our surprise it was the hottest day of the year (37 degrees)! Simply too hot to have a an outdoor ceremony with no shade. Our venue let us move it to a covered patio next to our reception room. It was still hot, but tolerable.

That's perfect! Free is always great when planning a wedding haha. Where is that?

You could always have tents and umbrellas on standby, and just embrace it! It's supposed to be good luck. Your "something blue" could be a pair of rain boots!

Ask your venue what they would suggest doing in case of weather emergencies! I feel like most venues already have a back-up plan in place since it's something so unpredictable

Our venue has a back-up for us! Weather permitting, we are going to do the ceremony outside, and then move inside after. If it ends up raining, our venue will move us inside to do the ceremony

We had a rain venue as a Plan B since our ceremony was outside. Quite happy we didn’t need to use it because we were in love with our outdoor venue (and it would have added another $500 to our cost).
