Well my worst nightmare came true!

Yay! I would have done the same thing. It would just remind you of all the hard times you had if you had gone with it.

My friend wanted to book this park and first they said we don't do bookings till the new year. Then when she called in Jan, they said didn't usually do weddings but my friend went to a few there and pointed that out. So then they said they don't in high season (when is when she attended) and then they were like we are renovating so there isn't any parking. She started getting stressed at having being told one thing by them and another by friends who had wedding ceremonies there. So she started to look elsewhere and found an even better place. It's open by the mountains and water. But now they have to sort of re-figure things. They don't even want to go back to the park anymore as she said it makes her get frustrated again.

I just wanted to give you a virtual high five for handling that with grace and class. That is a massive change up and sorry you had to go through that. Happy to hear it's resolved for the most part. I totally agree with you that it would have been hard to hold it in the old venue on a different date after what they did.

This way you have a fresh start with a ceremony venue that will carry positive memories!

trust me, what they did was horrible and they didn’t even apologize for their mistake.
So what my fiancé and I decided was to change our ceremony location to The Doctors House.
It would cost us hundreds of dollars to change our venue date due to the admin fees, and the church had left us with such a bitter taste with us. I want our special day to be a good reminder and not something they messed up with.
I’m still so upset with them for what they put my family and I into, I don’t want to deal with them anymore.

Its horrible what the priest did and said. He should have known this beforehand and not approved the date. I hope he keeps a calendar of the services throughout the year to avoid any couples going into the sane problem.

You were smart in the way of handling the venue changing dates dillema. Your other vendors must be aware of the changes i take due to the sudden alert.

Yes I had similar situation.......I feel your stress, but I think it's great that you handled it well by changing your date!!!! I'm sure it will be beautiful no matter what!!!!
Are you taking photos after the church and inbetween reception? Is that what you are concerned about? Weather etc?

We had this problem at first too! We are getting married in March and when we inquired last year, our priest said it interfered with Easter celebrations, and they don't do marriages during the Easter season.

We talked about other options, but we really needed this time as we are teachers and can only take specific times of the year off, and the summer was out of the question.

They decided to make an exception for us, because we were out of town and the restrictions on the date. I'm really happy that they could do this for us. We're planning on attending mass the next day to show our gratitude.

That's horrible! I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Side note, April 13 is my birthday! Lol but I have this fear too because my venue, is a private venue on their property. They just announced their sons wife is pregnant so they are no longer taking any weddings till at least 2021! And I fear that something will come up with family and they will cancel our wedding..

What faith are you if I may ask? Is it this coming April you were to get married?
