Wedding Website

Sheila, on January 17, 2019 at 15:23 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 12

Hello!

I'm wondering if you included your wedding website URL on your Save the Dates or just on the Invitations? We'll be doing RSVPs via the site, so I was thinking just with the invitations, but I saw some "website and invitation 101" articles saying to include that URL with the STD. Thoughts??

TIA!

Well, I didn't include it with my STD's, so it's going to go on the "information" card of my invitations.

I'm putting the wedding website on the invitations because that's where I want people to RSVP. I'm doing all my invites via email so I can put the link right in there and they can click right through - easy peasy!

I didn't put my URL on my Save the Dates because I need to re-work the website/It's not quite done yet.

I did add hotel information since 75% of guests will end up needing accommodations and the Save the Dates are designed to give guests (especially out of town ones) a heads up to book time/hotels etc.

I did just the invites! The website wasn't ready by the time we sent the save the dates!

I didnt put it on my save the dates because I didn't want people looking at the site before it was ready. Now invites are about to go out and I'm just barely finished it Haha

I’ve included it on mine! It’s nice for people to see exactly where the wedding will be, and it’s a nice way to introduce your registry as well

Oh I like that little note idea! That was my concern, not having everything locked down by the time we send them, so that helps a lot. Thank you Smiley smile

I've totally include the URL of our wedding website on our Save the Dates, for the simple reason that a lot of our guests are traveling and will need the details about the hotel to book, which are available on our website!

I had to scale back on our website, because we hadn't planned on sending save the dates, so some of the sections have a little note that says "We're still working on it - Check again later!".

That makes sense! We are planning email/digital save the dates, and paper copy invites with the URL on there to RSVP.

We're going paperless, so the save the dates had the website info.

We've taken the time to craft a site with useful information and hope/expect guests to be able to get all that they need about our wedding from that.

Although I am no longer going to be sending out save the dates - when I was making rough copies of them I did include the wedding website on them.

I would say to put it on the save the date as long as you have other information on there like who your wedding party is, maybe put in a couple trivia questions, if you have a blog going - but if not, then it can wait until the invitations.
