Wedding Transportation - Limo or No Limo

I pursonally booked Ottawa limousine for a great deal (the joys of getting married on a Wednesday!). I just thought, I have a huge wedding dress so it's not like I was going to be inconspicuous just because I was pulling up in a Kia. I'm considering this our splurge.

No limo! our venue and church are like 5 mins from each other and limos only start at 4 hours. seems like a waste to pay for a 5 min drive!

No limo for us. No travelling anywhere. We booked everything all in one place. Saves on transportation.

Not booking one for a variety of reasons. My dad ended up renting a larger car that he plans to drive everyone around in the day of (I'm not complaining since it's saving us money!).

I was going to do a limo, but now, I'm not so sure. I mean... my ceremony and reception are at the same place... that's the thing. But my FH and I haven't really worked out where we are going to do our wedding pics with the party. So in terms of that, we are going to have to have some sort of transportation lined up. Perhaps a party bus, but hopefully it's not too pricey. If not that, then a few ubers will do.

I'm not using a limo as everyone is staying at the hotel the night before and the ceremony, photos and reception are under one roof so it'd be incredibly pointless!

I would have definitely splurged on a limo if we had to travel from a getting ready site, to the ceremony, to photos and to a reception. It's not everyday you get to drive around in a limo!

Yes to Limo for the reasons of:

Large wedding party travelling together and worth the cost for the distance from the house/hotel to the venue. Any other stops for pictures at another location. Not reception since that's for you and husband at the time of being together.

No to Limo because:

The distance of the travel is shorter from the home/hotel to the venue and cost factors for a higher end. Driving cars seems better and having a wedding party member driving you there.

Reception wise, its good to take the same car as your husband to make your grand entrance.

We didn't opt to go with a limo since our families and friends stayed at the same venue and not much driving was done except for the Welcome Dinner portion 15 minutes to the restaurant each way. Also, most of my cousins getting married haven't opted this transportation either.

We are getting a big party bus because there are just too many to transport and we want everyone to have a good time.
Ours is a little over $800 for 4 hours. But unlimited pick ups and it’s the biggest bus they have.
We also got a discount for having a Friday wedding so that helps a little bit!
It really comes down to the distance between locations and how many people you have!

We’re splurging on this! we got a huge party bus style limo with a bathroom and everything for just under $1500 for 6 hours! our venue is about an hour away from where we’ll be getting ready, so we figure it’ll be super worth it!

Haven't decided yet- saw you were looking for estimates though and did get some- thought would let you know either way! Normally you make a budget when you first planning wedding and factor that amount in- We did factor money in but deciding if worth it as only short distance

Thanks Kelsie! That actually makes sense. I was just trying to figure out where we could cut cost. The quotes I've been getting are just crazy for 4/5 hrs.

What limo service did you go with?

I am not- but I quoted one- had to book a min of 4 hours at $100 per hour. In end $400 plus taxes and gratuity. Included few stops nothing else.

We’re using a limo because we need them. There’s too much driving between locations. We’re Paying less than $1000 for 5-6 hour service I think, with champagne and water included and then unlimited evening pick up for an hour.
